You can try the salon at Al-Meera (the one in your right if you are in Muntazah Road before reaching the Apollo Clinic). The barbers their are all Filipinos. They speak and understand english and it is also clean. Don't go on a Friday as surely there will be a long queue of customers waiting to have their haircut. Regular charge is QR25 and a QR5 tip is good enough.
Amoud, for your son you can cut his hair in the circus land (there is a kiddies hairdresser inside). The lady in there doing a great job. And they charge about QR 25 or QR 30.
Actually the place in landmark is a total rip-off, I got my 10 year olds hair trimmed (just bangs and sides) and he charged us 65 QR.
The one on Al Saad, Hollywood, is great. Last I remember it was a bunch of Turkish guys who speak great english. There is also one on Old Airport Road, if you are coming from the mall down Mataar Qadeem Street it is on your left side called Sezar if I remember correctly. Lastly there is a great Philippino barber in the town center :)
