Seminar-workshop on international accounting standards
The Philippine Institute of CPAs (PICPA) – Qatar in association with the Philippine Embassy will hold a seminar-workshop on 8 August 2008 at the Movenpick Tower & Suites from 1:30PM to 6:00PM. The seminar-workshop is supported by QTEL, Mc Donalds, Alfardan Group and Movenpick and will be free of charge for PICPA members.
Professionals in the field of finance, accounting, audit and business advisory are invited to participate in this seminar-workshop and may coordinate with Ms. Juliet at 5132725 or Mr. Jehmar at 5472634 in building professional expertise in the market place.
The seminar-workshop will focus on 3 international accounting standards such as Financial Statement Presentation (IAS 1), Investment Property (IAS 40) and Borrowing Costs (IAS 23). The seminar-workshop includes detailed lecture of the topics as well as some case studies and practical applications.
The speaker, Mr. Robert Lepon has more than two decades of audit experience, including audits of large multinationals, publicly listed domestic corporations, large family owned businesses and co-operatives in various industries and non-stock-non-profit organizations. His wide exposure in audit and in conducting IFRS seminars and audit training locally and abroad will help participants obtain competitive knowledge of IFRS, said PICPA Qatar representative. The speaker is a former Partner of big four audit firm and currently the Director for Assurance and Advisory Business Services of Ernst & Young (E & Y) Qatar. He has also completed the Strategic Business Economics Program at the University of the Asia and the Pacific (SBEP UAP) in the Philippines.

here in saudi, PICPA-Riyadh is also going to conduct a training seminar regarding Peachtree Accounting Software and Basics of Accounting for non-accountants... Registration fee is SR250.00... the training will run for 5 consecutive Fridays starting 25 July...

i just wanna ask if it's possible for non-CPAs to attend the said seminar for PICPA? I am an accounting graduate but have not taken the CPA review and board exam but have experienced in Accounting field.I am interested to be part of the seminar to broaden my knowledge. If ever, will there be a registration fee or any charges?
