hi everyone..
im a fresh graduate engr from philippines.
im 23 and single.
company is COMSSIP AL A'ALI (CEGELEC)
(construction company)

offer is:
3000QRS plus free accomodation and transpo, medical benefits and roundtrip ticket annually.

do you think 3000QRS will be enough for me and save some?

is it true that after probationary status of 3months, the company will increase your salary?
my problem is, it is not stated on my contract.im afraid that my salary will be 3000qrs for 2yrs.
can i just rely on verbal agreements?

pls help me out.. thankyou..
my visa is ready and im just waiting for my plane ticket..

seems you already made up your mind to accept the offer. Im a Filipino, and I know that our lifestyle does not need much of a money. Just enough to send money back home for our beloved is quite satisfying.

Take the offer, it will be your stepping stone for a brighter future. Free Accommodation and transportation is fair, but if you can negotiate for at least up to 4,500 or 5000 is much better. Goodluck.. and see you in Qatar!

thankyou for your opinion guys... but i think i'll just take the risk of having my salary increased after my 3months prob. period. besides, FRESH engr here in the phils cant get any higher than 1500qrs. and all other expenses and legal taxes.

thanks a lot..

Basically the salary is low and besides the place you are talking about has a reputation of NOT paying its employees regularly. I have heard about a guy who was not paid for 8 months but was made to work like anything just because he was under the company's sponsorship. It was couple of years back. Hope things are different now.

with the current cost of living in Doha, and with the continous price hike happening in Philippines... it's not fair to get only 3k salary as an eng'r... of course it will be depends on how u will handle your budget for this salary. if u are single as a fresh graduate maybe you can manage but if you have family to support... u must think very well. good luck to you.

for Fresh Engineers, any of the consulting firm will not give more than US $ 1000/- (Qrs.3650/)+ other benefits, but after 3 months if you are capable in your works they are ready to give u increment, you can ask them. Listen if you get experience during 2 years you can apply anywhere in the middle east for good salary...all the best.

3000 Qr a month for a engineer is crazy. I'm an engineer and my monthly salary is 37,000 QR a month with accomodations and vehicle and fuel payed for. Well I am American but still that doesn't mean anything. Please don't sell yourself short. You being filipino is going to hurt your chances here to make money comparative to your skill set. You are better off going to the United States and trying to find a job there. It's sad to say but most Asian workers here get the short end of the stick. They don't get treated all that well unless from my experience they are working with an American company. Please don't do it. 3000 QR is just peanuts.

I don't know what fresh Graduates are getting in Philippins but according to me it's very low. Considering cost of living here it should me minimum 5000/- + all other benefits.

It is not worth to take all pain for earning 25000/- Pesos if you can earn 15000/- in Phillipins.

Please negotiate with them for 4500/- minimum.

Your salary of QR.3,000 per month is reasonably good. You can save not less than QR.2,000 per month. This is also depending on how is your lifestyle. If you spend so much everyday then you will not be able to save anything.

Err heck NO! Your an engineer ask for at least 5 to 7grand and if nothing is mentioned in your contract then forget about anything happening after probation period. You should finalize everything before you come here. Even if accommodation is provided, everything else is expensive.
