I actually like the 7 pm 'Techno hour' on QBS, maybe that should move that to the morning so we can get pumped up on the way into work.

has anyone read this interview with bernie lyons www.dustinsenger.com... see august 2007 he makes all sort of claims wrote a hit song,made films he may be old but can still tell a good yarn...needless to say most of what he claims is not true anymore crazy claims let us know

haha omg yea that rock show chick they really have to kick her out its like shes scared or somethin and whenever someone sends her a flirt msg shes like' uhhh uhhh thanks alot mr whats hes name and gets mosshy and shy n forgets the songs name next' amean i dont listen to it that much but she just suck..oh and the songs are the same everytime.

i'd srsly wana work there for that show but they'll be like what ur just 18 kid go skatboarding or somethin '_'

Also, the news is fantastic. Hahahaha, Bernie!!! Tuned into QBS this week for the first time in years and was surprised to find him still there. Oh my gosh, he cracks me up. But like QK said, it's the "unintentional comedy value"...he cracks himself up even more!

And his song selection??? Hilarious! Where does he find that stuff??!!

Harsha- I have no problem with the prayer breaks, but when they interrupt a song for a commercial or station ID? Weird.

I have a theory that poor old Bernie only ended up here in Qatar because UK hospital radio rejected him. I'm sure he was trained by Alan Partridge

I strongly advice Rayyz to hire "Bernie Lyons" for his E4U shows as the presenter :)

Is better than many others at least he has a sense of humour and brings interesting comments and facts, so he is is not from the rap race and.............

I've been told there's been over 100 applicants to the State of Qatar to start new stations, so I guess it will be opening up "soon." Also Abu Dhabi is opening a HUGE media city, so we may be able to get stations from there soon.

Gypsy, is there a chance you can set up your own station here or is it going to be a problem with the authorities? Surely it can't be that hard to do a better job than these guys.

Must admit, I was excited to be able to get Radio 2 on 106FM from Dubai. Not great but 100 times better than QBS.

I like listening to QBS for its unintentional comedy value. The DJ in the evening (I think its something like Johnny Boy) loves himself and puts on such a Raaaaaaaaadio voice its very funny.

How about the rock chick Maria something? She doesn't even know the history of the bands she's talking about.

She just reads stuff online and not bother making proper research.

And she speaks as if someone just died. :( And I hear this after a long day from work.

Don't even get me started on QBS, as a Radio Journalism major I actually find the station insulting. I spend most of my time screaming at the old guy in the morning or the daft twit of a girl who keeps talking over the songs and can't pronounce any words! UGH! I can feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about it!

And what's with the afternoon show from the UK, they know they are doing it for a GCC audience yet they talk about snow outside their windows, and interview random people from the UK that nobodies ever heard about!

Btw have any one listened to the Newsreaders????they should learn to speak english first if they want to read the News!!

i like the dubai channels better.. some of em air here.. and god they r so energetic.. they r d indian channels...

if that doesnt work.. the cd's it is.. i hardly hear to qbs...

The guy (Bernie Lyons I think) has been doing the same show for 20+ years, I think I'd be bored too. Not nearly as bad as the young Arab girl who so obviously reads her show of cue cards though.

That voice drives me insane too.

you need bright and upbeat people on radio early morning to wake you up and keep you awake, I agree, a low droning voice would send you to sleep, not a good thing when driving.
