Visas, NOC and GREED

What is it with this country and the greed of so many people? A Bangladeshi came to work for me as his company had closed. He obtained No Obj letter from his sponsor. His sponsor has also (subsequently) reported him as absconding. So, he now is forced to pay QR4500 to get his passport from CID and his sponsor is demanding a further QR5000 to finalise the paperwork without which he cannot work.
QR9500 for anyone is too much but for someone earning QR1500/month it is pure extortion.

There should be an express court in Qatar which can dispense justice on these matters quickly; downtrodden innocent workers who clearly have nothing in their favour: no rights, no wasta, no say in anything - should be able to appear before it, and be given a fair deal within an hour.

Whilst their effort in upholding Islamic morality concerning male and female relations, charity and fasting during Ramadan and so on is truly gargantuan and thoroughly praise-worthy (and woe bestride anyone who doesn't respect these principles along with them) - the people of this country and their rich and powerful rulers should put the principles of justice inherent in their religion into practice. I can't think of any other part of the world where innocent people get so frequently f cked on a daily basis by powerful people. (Perhaps China, though that is no role model for anyone.)

We're always hearing about how Islam is all about justice. This being an out and out pure-bred 100% Islamic state, maybe it's about time they put their money where their mouth is. Let's see the 'real Islam' we're always hearing about in action in dealing with the big issues which actually affect people's lives.
