Hi i am moving to Doha in August and i am just wondering about a few things! First is the internet easily accessible in most places? I have read on other forums that there has been some problems with this, also is it better to buy a mobile phone over there or bring a mobile phone with me and buying an international sim card? and last but not least does anyone know what restrictions are in place in regards to books and dvds at customs for example would crime / thriller books be allowed or csi dvds? i do not want to take them in case they are confiscated. Thanks.

just go to carrefour, prepaid sim card in any qtel or jumbo authorized store. But if your phone goes on sim card maybe you could give a try in here by asking someone to use his/her sim in your phone. If it works then voila!!! you just have to go for the sim....nice ah!!

Books and dvd's bring all you can as long as it's not porn...and remember here you have PAL or region 2/5 dvd's....still can get one of those multiregion dvd and you're set.

Ah by the way now we have Virgin store in villagio mall...is a choice...welcome to doha

Seems like you have the next questions

best regards

Welcome dumb and happy,

Internet everywhere. Buy your mobile here. The only dvd's, books you would have problems with would be porn. Bring lots of books and dvd's. You will need them.

Cheers!
