Thanks guys for your replies. I may move soon to Qatar and looking to understanding the real estate market. Do you have an idea what the average price is for a Villa and if there is Islamic mortgage?

As an expatriate you can buy FREEHOLD in Pearl and West Bay, or LEASEHOLD (99 years) in Lussail.

A further development of 24,000 units for expatriate purchase is being built in AL Khor (50km North) but is a couple of years away yet.

Zig Zag Tower (in West Bay) still has units available from the developer, and is scheduled to complete soon. In fact it may take a further year.

Units for completion this year in the Pearl are all sold out I believe - but one can find "re-sales" available.

Mortages are easily available with repaymenst to age 67. I was quoted 7.9 to 8 % this week. Rates are not fixed.

And of course you can buy in the Pearl, Lusail, etc... those properties just aren't ready for habitation yet.
