Karwa driver harras passenger

By kapalic

I am a regular passenger of Carwa, since I haven't got my driving license yet. So I made a card from Carwa which I can recharge and use regular basis, because it gives me 10% discount on every ride, and has no time limit to expire. It is called a "Stored Value Card".

Yesterday while I was got up in a bus from Muaither, I told the Philipino driver to recharge the card for 40 rials, because I had no more change. He told me to recharge 45 rials, for that will be better for him to add. I managed 5 more rials.

While I was checking my balance of the card, it was showing only 0.60 rials, means the new recharge balance is not added. So I asked him what was the problem. He told me it was ok, as he gave me the receipt. I told him, receipt is ok, but the balance is not added in the card, so no benefit for me, because other drivers won't let me ride with it. He told me, go to the office.

At this point we had some bargin. My point was, he recharged it, he should fix it. Why should I go to the office wasting my time and money? But he told me, you are a bad passenger, go to the office, i'll explain to them. I told him, I am going to complain to his supervisor about him. So he was seriously angry.

That time the bus already arrived at Al-Fardan station. While opening the gate of the bus, he quickly told something to the approaching supervisor on the duty. He asked me what was the problem? Why you were shouting to him?

I got down from the bus, and was explaining the situation to him. My voise was a bit higher, as I was really so angry. He told me, don't shout. I appolozise and was explaining the matter to him. At this time the driving came running from the bus, and gave me a panch in my shoulder in front of the supervisor, telling me, why you are shouting? Should I called the police?

The supervisor took me aside, and told me, it was a mistake from the driver. I told him, you see his behavior? He told me, yes, I see, don't mind, he is a little angry. Wait few minuites. I am reporting to the senior officer. I waited outside the office, while they all got inside.

Then few minuites later, they asked me inside. There the senior officer told me, I am fixing your card, in condition you forget the matter. I told him, money doesn't matter, but I want step taken against the driver first. He told me, two of you was bad, so no step to be taken. Other philipino drivers was there, who was making fun of me. But no step against the driver was taken.

So I told the officer, no need the fixing, and asked for my card, and about the office of the mudir. He gave my card back, and told me the office of the mudir is upstair. I not managed to find the office, left the station, thinking no further step will be actually taken, because all of them was philipino, and I am from sub-continent.

In Qatar, I always thought, the most gentle people here is Sudani and Philipinos. But this incident really made me change my mind.

i have the receipt the driver gave, which i kept for this kind of situation. there is the number of the bust and id of the driver. and recognizing the driver and supervisors is no problem. i can do that.

You remember the bus number? Could you identify the driver and the 2 supervisors?

If so, you need no witness. If you're firm and consistent of what really happened, the management would believe you.

I'll direct you to the manager himself.

Unless you come forward, this would be futile since you are faceless as I can forward this page to the DIRECTOR of MASS TRANSIT DEPARTMENT(who's a personal friend of mine) for his perusal.

Your decision...

I will give you the name and contact mo. of the person if you are prepared to go all the way. Karwa is very strrict on these issues.

My contact of Karwa is another QL member(Kanuwa). In this kind of situation I directly call him on his mobile and once the driver or supervisor realize who I am talking they shxt in their pants.

So if you are prepared. let me know.

Don't them get away with it.

Make a report to Karwa, then call one of the newspapers, to let them know.

mashok # I complained to the field supervisor first who saw the driver giving me a punch. He apolozise in the first place to me, but did not testify to his superior too against the driver.

Then I complained to the senior supervisor. And he did not take any action neither. He told me to forgot everything by the exchange of fixing my problem, which I denied. I wanted justice.

Then I wanted to go to the manager, but thinking he might be a philipino to, I quit. But if I had strong witness, I really would have gone to the police.

Let this be an eye opener to those who uses the bus service, don't get into an argument with these egotistic drivers (what's the nationality again?).

So annoying to hear that, i really feel sorry for that, although not all philipino drivers are same but really sad to say there really exist. and opt to punch.. sa mga kababayan totoo yan, kahit ako witness sa mga ibang drivers mainitin sila pag dating sa ibang lahi just recntly yung fil driver sinusungitan ang isang nepal na nag tatanung lang ng maayus pero nag mumura..

but what to do...

really feel sorry for you.... next time you encounter like this you have to get your right!

nadt, heero @ I know very well that I should not blame all the Philipinos for just one, but the problem is, there was not just one man involved. all the people in the supervisors was supporting the driver. they even laughed on me heavily when I wanted to know where is the office of the mudir so I can make a complain! so I am unwilling to tell it a single man involved problem.

qatarisun @ i know very well it is "Karwa" not "Carwa". just a type mistake..don't try to focus the problem to other way..

aaahmed @ i am bigger in size from the philipino. so it was not a problem to break his nose..but i wanted to get it in the proper way..

if you got even a slight bruise on the shoulder that would be a proof, should go to a clinic then file a complaint to the police.

I really would like to report it to the police. But the problem is lack of witness. Passengers in the bus that time was labours from sub-continent most, who actually don't understand english, which we both were speaking. Nor does the people from Egypt.

The only witness seeing the punch is the philipino supervisor, who I was sure will not witness against the philipino driver. So I did not go to the police.

Why cant people just treat each incident as an isolated one and stop dragging down a whole race because "one " or a few Filipinos acted in a stupid way..

That's not the same case with---

I dont know why a whole race is brought to shame when an incident like this occurs..So he was Filipino, big deal ...other Filipinos arent responsible for all the actions of Filipinos..Why cant people just treat each incident as an isolated one and stop dragging down a whole race because "one " or a few Filipinos acted in a stupid way..

We can't blame other's opinion, here in Qatar, this scenario always happened. If someone harrassed somebody, they will always got the impression merely applicable to all.

So sad to hear that,... Filipino drivers of Karwa.... shame on you..... please don't bring that don't bring that shameless s**t here in Qatar.

Countrylady is right, if you don't like your job, leave and don't bring out that suburbanic behaviour of yours here. co'z all you just brought is a freaking shame to your fellow pinoys.

of ever riding in a vehicle with a Filipino!

Can I request a specific nationality driver from Karwa ?

By nice too nice• 20 Jun 2008 15:06
nice too nice

There were people praising filipino two days back..See this passenger who was also thinking filipinos are good until he get a punch from one. Now he changed his mind.

what I trying to say is the behaviour is not due to the nationality, whatever is the nationality, the behaviour and attitude is merely personal........nothing to do with country .....
