Old Cobblers

Sam returns to his home town in the north of England after a twenty year absence. He's surprised to find that, although there have a been a lot of changes, many of the old shops and pubs are still going strong. He spots an old cobblers shop and wanders in, thinking that the original owner may still be in residence. Sure enough the old cobbler comes out of the rear of the shop and asks 'What can I do for you sir?'. Sam explains that he's just revisting his home town and the two of them get to talking about old times. Presently Sam says 'You know, I'm almost sure I left a pair of shoes in here to be re-soled and heeled twenty years ago'. 'Is that so?' says the old man, 'What's the name and address?'
Sam tells him and the old cobbler disappears into the back of the shop. He comes back after a long time and says 'Name of Jones, right?' 'That's right!' says Sam. '28 The Crescent, right?' says the old guy, 'Yes thats right!' says Sam. And the old guy says 'Your shoes will be ready on Thursday Mr.Jones'...
