Qatar airways salary

Hi all,

Before anything else, gotta apologise for all these perennial questions on the forum - but like a few others, I've also been offered a job by Qatar Airways during their global recruitment drive here in bangkok.

I'm single lady and am really excited about the prospect of working overseas for the first time in my life. But beyond my excitement, I'm just wondering if you guys think the package they're offering me is worth it. If I can make ends meet on my own in Doha.

This is what they're giving me per month:
- Basic of QR4066 (though I'm planning to see if I can negotiate it up)
- Housing allowance QR1100
- Transport allowance of QR460

They have offer me the post of QRH Senior Operations Agent and am only drawing an approximate salary of QR4066 at the moment. It may seem like a lot of low salary - but I do realise I've got to take into consideration other personal expenses that I've been taking for granted back home in bangkok.

Would really like your opinion on whether this is a reasonable offer? Thanks in advance for any help! ;-)

Grade 7 is not managerial.

Salaries vary too much even within the same grade, depending on dept, qualification, experiences, track records, etc.

Hi All,

What are the salaries for managerial positions ? (grade7/8 I guess).

GH.

that salary is grade 4. housing allowance is quite low because QR have their own accommodation provided to their staff and it's full furnished. The bad part of staying in their accommodation for ground staff is curfew and no guys was allowed to visit them even father or brother.

Is that all what they are offering you? I am sorry my dear but that is peanuts. Even for a single person to live here alone, he or she would require 7 to 8 thousand riyals per month if they are giving you accomodation or 12 to 15 thousand if accomodation not included in the package. Rents are disgustingly high and so are the food prices not to mention other living expenses. Please, don't even think of accepting that offer.

your salary doesn't match the housing allowance they are giving....they have staff who has a salary of 2,500 but getting 2,500 H.A. and 500 transport allowance...check it again.

From QR standard this salary is not too low (guess you are grade 4). But your life here will be tough with this salary level.

For a while, I thought I posted again under a different name:

"Hi all,

Before anything else, gotta apologise for all these perennial questions on the forum - but like a few others, I've also been offered a job by Qatar Airways during their global recruitment drive here in Singapore.

I'm single and am really excited about the prospect of working overseas for the first time in my life. But beyond my excitement, I'm just wondering if you guys think the package they're offering me is worth it. If I can make ends meet on my own in Doha.

This is what they're giving me per month:

- Basic of QR7500 (though I'm planning to see if I can negotiate it up to QR8000)

- Housing allowance QR2500 or the company accomodation

- Transport allowance of $600

I've been in the airline industry for 10 years in Singapore and am only drawing an approximate salary of S$1800 (whereas it's almost S$3000 in Qatar) at the moment. It may seem like a lot of difference - but I do realise I've got to take into consideration other personal expenses that I've been taking for granted back home in Singapore.

Would really like your opinion on whether this is a reasonable offer? Thanks in advance for any help! ;-)"

... Sorry I may be anal but I really don't appreciate such full copying and pasting wholesale ...

Sewasdee! Sorry to say, offer is low! No decent place for QRs.1,100.00. Food is expensive. Furthermore, factor other things that would affect your being away from home. If you can live comfortably with your present salary I suggest you stay in your home country, which I think, you'll be happier. Money can't buy happiness...

even if u want to rent a small room near ur work, u should have at least 3500-4000QR for that.

transportation will cos u much more than ur allowance if u will go with cabs all the time.

all in all, it is a rubbish offer.

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

check the classifieds for the price of accomodations. You will never find anything for that price. The price of food is very expensive here, as well as taxis. Look around on this site and you will see the cost of living is high. Your package is low and you will have a hard time making ends meet, much less save anything.
