Changing your profession on Residence visa

smithbits
By smithbits

My profession shown in my residence visa is Technician whereas in reality I am working as Manager. I tried to change my profession from Technician to Manager through our agent but for some reason he is saying it is not possible. I have Masters in Business administration and Masters in Geology. I really wonder why this change can't be done. Does any body has any suggestion of how to do this change?

I hold Polytechnic Diploma (3 years) from Tamil nadu, India and having 20+ years of experience in IT system administration. Since Nov'19 I am working in Qatar with profession as "Computer Engineer" in QID.

What is the procedure to change my title and which is the suitable profession for my years of experience, IT field & family visa eligibility.

My Salary is more than 20K QAR

Good day!

I am a nurse by profession. I was hired by a construction company as a site nurse but the PRO applied the painter visa instead of nurse visa. I started working with them since May 1, 2016. I told him that I need the nurse visa for me to be able to process my nursing license. He said that he needs my CAV (Philippines) = (diploma+transcript of records+RLE for nurse) with stamped of our embassy and MoFA. Last Sunday June 05, 2016, I went to our embassy for stamping and they stamped it. Then yesterday, I went to MoFA Mesiameer for final stamping but they reject my application for stamping because of their new guidelines and I should go directly in their Main Office and so I went their. The main office was also rejected my application for stamping for the following reasons:

The statements below should be written on each educational documents before they do the stamping. The required information of the certificate in the statement should be as the following as of June 01, 2016:

1. Validity of the certificate data.

2. The system of study and attendance

3. Head quarter of examination (location-city-state)

4. The degree (diploma-B.A-M.A.-PhD)

5. Article tutorial scheduled for this certificate (curriculum)

6. The actual time spent by the student to get this certificate (from start to end date)

7. Education Institution (government / private)

8. Accreditation of the institution official authorities based academic in the host country during the student's study

Almost all of the applicants were rejected by the officer guy who gives the application number. What should I do next? I think most embassies are not aware of this new policy.

Good day!

I am a nurse by profession. I was hired by a construction company as a site nurse. I started working with them since May 1, 2016. When I checked my visa online, it stated there my Profession is a painter. The QCHP won't accept such visa if I am applying for my license. Yesterday, our PRO went to our site and asked me to come with him for fingerprinting. I informed him that I need a nurse visa because it is one of the requirements in applying my nurse license. He was a little bit shocked and he said that he already applied for it and the company will not give him another money. After a while, I asked him again if he can help me regarding this issue (though he's the one who must solve this problem which he created), he said I need to pay him 800QAR for the processing. I talked to our HR manager regarding this and he is just passing my concern to the same guy who created the problem. What should I do next?

HAHAHA! You made me laugh. But I will pass that exam and I will let you know. (I HOPE SO :))))) Yes. But do you think is it okay to request again change category? Maybe our admin will reject it bec it may cause any trouble or conflict?

Thank you Mr. Quddus Ahmed.

Dear Mr.Lan.Yumul. You need to change the agreement to the profession what you are applying for.

Example if you want to change your profession to draftsman, you need to sign the agreement of draftsman. The previous agreement which you have signed for Engineer doesn't work. And I suggest you to apply with draftsman instead of Engineer and don't you wait and waste the time in attempting the UPD as it is much difficult to get passed. I am sure to get passed in UPD need luck. haha

Don't be underestimated and try to get pass.

Thank you

Hi Mr. Quddus Ahmed. Thank you for your response. Yes I' working on it. But in case I want to change it again, example draftsman. Is it okay even if I have already new contract base on the requirements. Is it okay to request to change category again? I really want to change my category so I can enroll driving license, and also I'm working as an Architect, so I think it is okay to change my prof.

By quddus ahmed• 22 May 2016 14:44
quddus ahmed

Dear Mr.Lan.Yumul,

If you want to change your profession to Engineers. First you need to attempt an UPD exam and achieve a certification which is a certified licence from Urban Planning. but in case of changing to any other category its not mandatory other than Engineers.

Go ahead as early as possible, but you should have your architect degree/ certificate (attested from your own country and MOF Qatar I believe). 2nd check with your mandoob (PRO) whether the company have such visa or not.

This profession in our Residence Visa is a problem to me now.. Machine Operator is my occupation written in my visa, yes, it's true that I am Operator in a LNG plant here in Qatar. My most concern about my occupation is that, it is included in ban to get driving license.. Big problem for me, because I am a family status with 2 children, they will arrived maybe in a month. What will be our means of transportation? Commuting with bus and taxi? Not so practical.. Definitely, we will not enjoy our stay here in Qatar for an indefinite contract in my company.. It was suggested by the Driving School to change my occupation, but how can I change it if what is written is really my position?..

profession change is required for Family and Visa on arrival purpose.

If you have a labour or electrician title you will face problem for the above.

As long as you we are not lookin the above things there is no need to change profession.

Hai guys

I have been working in qatar since 1995 in a reputed company as a supervisor. The title of my visa was labor. As uyou said it doesn't make any difference

until I try to bring my family here, Because we are not able to bring our family if our visa in such title even we are working as a manager , I canceled my RP while I go on vacation and cameback in new visa as engineer. I heard that even we we can visit UAE for 7 days if we had a engineer or doctor visa (not sure).

What's the big fuss of changing your position on your VISA? Can you even READ what is written on your PATAQA? Do you go around with, showing everyone your LABOR CONTRACT where it states that you are MANAGER? Does anybody around you care whether you are Manager or not on your VISA? I can't even seem to find the benefit of changing the title, not unless you want to brag around everyone saying 'I've got a Manager's title on my VISA'. I am an ENGINEER without a MASTERS degree, but my title is ELECTRICIAN. What's the BIG DEAL?

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

It is important, getting an NOC from sponser.

First get the Application Form for Profession Change,

get your sponser sign & seal on that paper then goto Labour Dept(near to American Hosp) along with,

1) Sponser ID copy

2) Munciplaity Bill

3) Edu. Qual Copy (should be Transalted)

4) Bank Stmt(6 months)

5) Aggriment Contract (3 New) (newly printed)

6) Aggriment Contract (3 Old - Already signed)

7) Your PP , Visa and ID copy.

Submit this and get sign from officer he is sitting in 3rd Floor.

Once you got the sign goto the nearest office for attestaion of your contracts.( new 3). while attestation you have to pay 50 QR.

wait for another 10 days and got Immigration office(garaffa) and show your receipt from Labour by showing them the New Application for ID change with your photo.

Then go Buiding no: 1 and submit your application there, you have to pay 300 QR.

On the spot you will get your new ID and Visa sticker on your PP.

Go Ahead good luck for you. I just changed recently.

you can do it on your visa renewal... just submit your certificates/diplomas, they have to change it for you. unless the company doesn't have a visa for the certain positions/nationals.. coz before issuing visa on particular name, company has to get an aproval for the certain nationality and position, and then they apply your name to this visa...
