Hi, does anyone have banking experience with IBQ? How is the bank in terms of reliability, customer service quality, interest rates & payment, convenience, etc?
I just want to know if your case (whatever it is) is a normal practice for IBQ or not. I also have an account in IBQ. So all I am wondering about is will they also deduct 5000 from my balance when I desiced to close my account there? Or this is your particular case ?..
such subject will take a very long time and calculations to explain and if u are one the bank team or managers then thats another subject,we can contact any way u like and i will explain u all (although its no use)and then u can juddge if i was right or just writing some apra cadapra on site.....
i didn't say I don't believe you. i asked HOW did you lose 5000 while closing your account? what happened? did they deduct these 5000 from your account as a fee for closing? or what?
i thought its good but when i asked to close my acount they showed the other face ,i lost 5000 qr in one minute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!u might not believe me so if u dont try them ur self.......
i agree with you yazz771, you are lucky you got it in 8 weeks, they took 12 weeks for my card(sadd branch), and it took nine months to activate that card, after visiting them several times(not to mention the waiting time for your turn at the B counters)mr mazen and one expressionless leb lady sometimes use to give me some vague reasons, i think they are not fit to be coustomer relation officers, i would like to mention good job done by mr aiyman(coustomer relation) and mrs kanan(first floor)in getting my card activated,
one more thing i would like to mention is that the bank should be renamed as INTERNATIONAL BANK OF LEBANON, where lebs get VIP treatment, they just walk in at the the B counters even while you are sitting there and get their job done in no time.

I applied for a credit card it got me 8 weeks to have it.
First month they forgot to advice my job about acnt number for salary transfer. I collected the check and deposit it personnaly (after waiting 2hrs at the counter)
Been out of the country and none of my IBQ cards worked hopefully I was with a friend who borrowed me cash.
You never have appropriate answer with CS, the final answer is always:you'd better go to a branch!
I think they are worst of the lot. Free money transfer is crap. They take weeks in money transfer & will ask for payment for tracking the whereabout of your money. I wanted to place standing instruction for money transfer and they would charge QR 25/- per month for standing instruction. Once I filled up form to transfer QR 5000/- and they transferred IRS 5000/-. Once customer service lady filled wrong account number & my money transfer came back after many weeks. The list is endless.
I really struggle to ever get a straight answer from them, was told a load of lies when opening my account as well - that maybe an exception as a company is just made up of people but my experiences have been bad. They do help you when you need it but you really have to ask to see a manager before anything gets done
i rcv an sms that my new atm card is ready for collection at city center branch. i immediately called the so called "Customer Service-Call Center" to confirm the sms but they have no idea about the sms messages. so i went to city center branch, i waited....waited.....and waited for my cue number to be called. to my surprise and dissapointment I was told that I should get my atm from my branch. I had an argument with the so called customer service representative and showed him the sms messages from the bank. He just shake his head and said maybe it was a wrong messages. Now is that a customer service???

IBQ call center sucks !! no proper response for Customer inquiries. In fact,it took 3 weeks to get a ATM card after repeatedly calling them. Can you believe ?? I had a nightmare with IBQ C-RIng road branch & I dont recoomend this banker to anyone who wishes for professional customer service.
hi i work for IBQ .. its been almost 15 months and the bank really knows how to treat its customers as well as its employess equally.......I am ex Standard Chartered Bank employee. But since ive joined IBQ... things in my perosnal and professional life .. great on going trainings....seminars.. and ongoing educations are just some of the benifits that an IBQ employee enjoys.

My account is in the IBQ, and all i can say is that it is the best bank i have dealt with in my life...
The treatment there is very very good, not crowded and i always leave there with a smile...
Demerits : QR 5,000 min balance (avg) to be kept.They were asking me to keep QR 15,000 min balance on another scheme.They must be crazy.
They charge for obtaining bank statements (QR 15 per page)
No online banking.(although i believe they are to start that soon)
Merits :Functional Credit card/ATM card immediately on opening an account. I think this is an excellent facility.
3 or 4 free transfer to your account back home.
Not that much of a crowd at their branches (compared to CBQ etc)
Sweets at the cashier counter ;-)
