Can any one please tell me, how long would a concrete structure survive the GCC weather? because the more i think about it the more i feel that buildings here don't last more than 30 years or I could be wrong, can some shed some light on this topic
at normal case the building must stand not less than 50 yrs, but according our invironment this decrease to 30 yrs maybe,
any way if we start do it properly and using some of additional rules to avoid the effect of humidity and hot weather, it can be accorording international standard 50yrs and maybe hunderds, ;)
You are right.. I think Dubai probably has the strictest building codes.. I worked in saudi and there, the lifspan was generaly in the 30 year range. In some areas though it is even less, where the idea is to make a quick return on investment.

good morning and hows your day so far?
afaque true..rather than the structure surviving, they would demolish for something new :)
30 years is too long, looking at the pattern, the government will demolish it much sooner to construct something else!
