Cost Of Living in Doha

Hi Everyone,

I am talking to one of the organizations in Doha for a potential opportunity. So far I have got the hints that I would be getting around 12,000 USD (44,000 QAR) as a monthly salary; which includes everything. Kindly help me to make my decision easier in the below mentioned fields Inshallah.

1- Avg accommodation rate(2 bed room), reasonably near to the city {to avoid traffic etc} unfurnished.
2- Rent-A-Car charges on monthly basis.
3- Car leasing (brand new & reconditioned) rates for any model between 1300-1500 Cc.
4- How much (on average) amount is required to furnish a 2 bed room apartment.
5- How much (on average) amount is required for normal food per month. Is 1000 USD (3500 QAR) good enough?
6- How much (on average) amount is required for normal clothing per month. Is 500 USD (1700 QAR) good enough?

I would appreciate response from my brothers Inshallah.

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for very useful information. Can you also put some light on the below mentioned queries;

1)- Is it possible to send "money" online from the bank to other countries, for example in my case - Pakistan -

2)- Is 500~700 USD per month enough for a 2 ~ 3 years old kid's education (playgroup etc).

3)- Is there any concept of hiring a driver for a personal car on monthly rates? If so, what are the general rates?

4)- Is there any online shopping site (for various types of stuff) like Ebay/Ebuyer etc.

5)- What sort of Car (brand new) I can buy in a budget of 50,000 QAR?

Would appreciate comments inshallah.

regards,

"see? u can make a list. but we can't make a list for those who are deserving, overworked but underpaid workers here."

----> You just did not get it. I need to spell it out. I was being sarcastic.

1. A friend of mine renting a flat in Al Mansoura which is in the middle of Doha, it cost him QR 10.000 (fully furnished 2 bedroom flat)

Not sure about number 2 or 3 ...

4. Depend on the quality furniture you want. You can get the cheap one from Najma to the posh one from ID Design or The One.

5. Thats also depend that you happy with buying local stuffs from the region or you like imported western groceries. Stuffs from the UK / US cost alot more over here.

6. Normal clothing ? It is also depend on your taste. We dont even spend that amount you mention for family of 3.

Do you have any kid/s ? How about schooling? How about medical ? Annual flight home ?

QR3500 is enough for ur food.

if u want a 2 bedroom flat, u can have it for QR6000-8000

u may opt for a furnished accomodation

minimum charge for rent-a-car is QR100 (nice & clean car)

QR44000/month is a big amount of money here. a laborer gets QR500-700/month & their accomodation is like a small poultry (around 20 people in 1 room.

u r lucky that they offered u that amount.
