hey guys,

just wanted to have idea regarding the length of validity of working visa, coz i you can see in qatari "pataka" it gives data on expiry date. Does it mean the day our residence visa expire is also the date and month of the previous year it was granted which gives a total of one year?

Say for example : The expiry date of my visa is 2008/12/02 , does it means it was also granted last 2007/12/02?

please enlighten my mind guys...

Expiry date of your Visa is 2008/12/02, you have to renew your R P after that date. You will get a period of 3 months to renew your visa. Please confirm about your type of Visa. If it’s a project oriented visa you can’t renew. So confirm with your PRO whether it’s a renewable Visa.

thanks...

but i guess its not the date u landed in doha but the date ur sponsor able to get the residence visa from immigration..

i came here last oct. 7, 2007 as visit visa and it was renewed for another month with an expiry until dec. 4, 2007..was able to worked with company "X" and have my visa dated nov 29(dont know what kind of visa was that), dec. 1 i able to get NOC from the travel agency so my sponsorship will be transferred to company from travel agency, so maybe perhaps dec. 2 my sponsorship was transferred. Thats maybe the expiry date is Dec. 2, 2008.

quite clear now...

thanks guys...

yes you're correct!!

fierry is also correct...

then whats you're worried about?

if you wish to lenghten your visa validity for more years... you can do so... that is... upon the approval of your sponsor...

in some cases, they got a 1 year visa validity on the very first time. Thus, from the time of arrival in Doha plus 365days. And a renewal for additional 1 or 2 or 3 years from the first expiry date of the visa, depending on your sponsors wish to add.

..expiry date of your RP Visa or your Qatari ID card

is corresponding to your entry date into Qatar...

Work Visa issued for you may be for a duration of 1 or 2 or 5 years.

You can still continue to work / live in Qatar for less than equal to 3 months from the expiry date of your Qatar ID / RP Visa and get rid of yourself with a Exit Permit and not return OR cancel your RP or leave Qatar within 7 days.

Hope this helps....LOL !!

Yes... The Expiry Date indicated therein is the same as the time you first landed in Doha, Qatar and pataka (RP) is valid for one year. I just dont know if they can have two years.

I have had Work Visa that was valid for 1 year and for 2 year.

Do't know if you can get longer validity
