QL is just protecting itself from a backlash if a users photo is posted without their permission. It makes sense to me.
Some people are very naive when it comes to internet security. It's ridiculously easy to find out a lot of information about some people, and unfortunately some people use this in a bad way.
From a photo it's not many steps to finding a persons real name, and there a many reasons why a QL user wouldn't want their real name revealed.
And there are so many other methods of sharing photos with people on the internet, so it's hardly a showstopper not being able to put them on QL.
swissgirl, I'm sure you've seen the threads over the last couple of weeks where people have decided to leave QL due to problems they've had in the real world that have stemmed from issues raised on QL. Hence it is understandable that some people would not want their photo posted on the website, so you have to get a users permission before doing this.

i had fair share of some trolls too. One of the mum from my son school posted my photo on here without my concern. That was over 1 yr ago.

Just don't post any photos on QL that reveal the real identity of a QL user. That is against the site guidelines.

Just got an Idea when we wanted to share the QL Cricket match photos. The person who had the photos had to send a mail to every one........
some has to much to hide.
