I have a business visa valid for one month and renewable monthly until 3 months. What I understood is after 3 months I need to go out of Qatar and come back for another business visa renewable monthly in 3 months. My question is, for how long a person can enter Qatar with business visa with this process (going out after 3 months and coming in for another 3 months)? Can anyone tell me if I can stay for 1-2 years with this process with the same sponsor? I would appreciate your advise...
maam pls email me your contact no. i need your help regarding the exact location of this visa extention..this is my email ad [email protected] for your urgent reply.thanks
I just HAD to share this knowledge as I spent days searching forums for the info as well as ringing Embassies - all giving me the wrong answer - or should I say the answer I did not want to hear!!!
I came to Qatar bringing a few family members on a tourist visa (to see a relative) which gives 1 months validity. However I needed to stay here for just over 5 weeks.
Whoever I asked i.e. immigration dept near airport, the main immigration area somewhere in Doha (don't know the place well enough to direct anyone but it is the main immigration dept in Doha), I was told that this tourist visa can not be extended!!!! However, as I had assumed that extending the visa would not be an issue (the UK Qatari Embassy in London says that you can extend this) I had booked my flight tickets for a duration of 5 weeks! Now being told by even the managers of the immigration dept.s that this type of visa cannot be renewed obviously caused a lot of problems. As even changing the flight dates to leave earlier would cost each ticket at least £100!!!
The only solution one manager came up with was to apply for a family visa by getting my relative who lives here to apply for us and get his company to sponsor. But this would cost me 700 Riyals per person!!! (equivalent to around £120 - ie more expensive than even changing my flight dates!).
Instead.... (sorry for the long story rather than just the important bit you all waiting for...) I went back to the immigration area near the airport in Doha and again asked the manager about which queue to join for Tourist Visa extension. Again I received the same reply that it CANNOT be done! Instead of listening though, I waited patiently in the long queue that is labelled Visa Extention (spelt wrongly lol). But this time, instead of using my normal phrase of "Hi, I would like to enquire how I go about extending my UK Tourist Visa" I just handed over the passports and said "I would like to extend our visas please".... I.e. I did not mention the word 'TOURIST'!!! The gentleman proceeded to enter some sort of details from the original visa sticker that was stuck in the passport into his computer and then asked me how long extension I would like... "2 weeks" I replied, and he proceeded to type something into the computer... I remained quiet throughout this time! He then gave me the 'bad news' that it would cost 100 Riyals per passport.... No problem to me as this is much better than 700 Riyals and loads of paperwork heh?! Especially as this is the equivalent cost of a tourist visa in the UK anyway (i.e. £20). 5 minutes later I had my tourist visa renewed on all passports!!!!
I suggest anyone else having this trouble does the same and hopefully it will work for you too!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!x
I landed here in Qatar on 6th of October and my Tourist visa for one months expires on 5th of December. I need to extend it for one more month. Is it possible. Medical is required for extension of this visa. Please guide me.
I really need help regarding my stay here. I still have more that a week and my visa will expire. Btw, what ma'am vicky penang did last february is still applicable today and to all nationality?
I'm a filipina, and we have a hard time in processing my sponsorship here in qatar by my husband.
do i need my passport to show or just the xerox? because my passport is not on my hand right now.
I don't know if we can still make it on the end of this month. Please call me at 00974-643-4218
Is a China passport holder eligible for VISA on Arrival? Can the tourist visa be extended in the Immigration Department at the airport? OR Can i extend my sister's stay in Doha since I am his brother and I have R.P. ?
Business visa is only one month extendable to 3 months. But every month it is renewable by your sponsor company. No need to exit. You cannot take it "one on the go" as you said...
rhiaperez, if your employed at present the employer will do the arrangement of your visa with your previous sponsor. But if they advice you to extend it, go back to your agent who give you a visa and let them process it. But i'm sure you need to exit the country as per the info on above posts.
Hi, good day, I hope you can tell me the exact name and address of the company where you have process your visa extension. My visa will expire this 30th of Sept. I would like to extend it for 1 week or 2 while my employer is still processing my working visa. Thank you so much. I am a Filipino. This is my number 974 6756374.
I am going to get married by next month and i am planning to bring my wife along with me in a tourist visa, as the RP cannot be processed during my absence and due to the other formalities regarding the processing. If I am bringing her in the tourist visa and processing her RP within the month is that possible to change her tourist visa to RP without an exit from the country.
Hi! I got here a month ago and my visa( it must have been a tourist visa) should expire tomorrow. Since my husband has an RP and he lives here I gave his address until I apply for an RP under his sponsor. Since his sponsor had to leave the country on family vacation I didn't have time to process the RP. We thought we might try our luck and see if we could get my visa extended and thank God it worked. We went to the ministry of interior building which is across the street from the parking lot( all the way back) with another name on it called passport and airport security. First we went to the airport( arrival)section where they have an immigration place but I think since it was like 5.00pm it was closed. Anyway we asked at the information counter about visa extention and she directed us even from where she stood to a building behind the "Click" billboard across the street from the airport. So we went there. Within the vicinity there are 2 or 3 smaller buildings for specificic travel needs. Go to the visa section. The actual counters for visa was closed but apposite those counters is a travel permit counter ( no.2) you can extend your visa there provided you have a debit or visa credit card to pay QR100 for the visa. It was pretty easy. They'll put a sticker with your name and 1 month visa on it. We were so happy we wanted to tell everyone about it. Until we get the RP process underway we have some peace of mind. Thanks to all those people who have provided some information on visa extension on qatarliving. It's a great site.
Anyway I am looking for DEWALT cordless drill batteries and board or wood that I can buy here in Qatar. Does anyone know where I can purchase them?
Visas on arrival (100 QR) can be renewed once (for an additional 100QR) then you have to leave the country and return (Bahrain Air has fares in the range of 411 QR).
I'm not sure if a tourist visa obtained through a hotel can be renewed though. You can try renewing it at the Immigration Office near the airport. If you do, great, if not, Bahrain has a great First Class lounge--far surpassing the public bus terminal called the Silver Lounge at DIA.
alternative is to get a return flight to Bahrain, fly there, sit in departure lounge, get the next flight back and a new tourist visa for one month on arrival in Doha.

all are having really confusing regulatins.
Earlier the business visa was used to get for only 14 days and later 14 days extendable.
recently my frined brought his brother , to look for a job for him, but he was brught NOT on visit visa , but BUSINESS VISA.
It was given straight THREE MONTHS,,, without exiting the country, without medical check up
Is it possible to get 3 month business visa at one go ?
