I believe there are two types of British passport.

If I recollect correctly there is "citizen of" or "right of abode".

which countries have you visited?

your profile says you are from UK. if you are holding a british passport my dear, you can directly fly to MOST countries and get visa on arrival. at the airport, upon arrival, just wait for few minutes for them to issue visa valid from 14-30days. you dont need to undergo the process of applying visa in the local embassies. and talking about the cost, fees are always associated with travels. we have to pay whether it is obtained from respective embassies or on arrival at the aiport. we cannot avoid it.

on your next travel, you might as well consider visa on arrival to avoid the 'whole process'.

know your priviledge of having a brit passport... for more inquiry, you are welcome to call 4384477 and 4496666

That is completely wrong...you are welcome to look at my passport and see how many visas I have and how expensive the whole process is.

Why do the countries require that? It's hard to believe in this day and age. It almost makes it seem as if the wife is property of the husband.

lucky YOU! americans, british, australian, canadian and others dont even need visa to travel the world. unlike asians, we need to apply for visa.

if the visa is under the sponsorship of husband, they must accompanied by their husbands to travel the GCC, as novita said.

Why in the world can people not travel without their husbands? I went to Bahrain without mine. I am American.
