Family Visa or Family RP requirements?

I will be coming ahead of my family; once I get my RP I
guess I need to sponsor them on a Family RP visa. What are the requirements for
the Family RP visa for US citizens? I was
told the US state dept. back in the US must attest to the documents required by
the Qatar gov. This includes original marriage license, birth certificates….etc.
I was told it cannot be done by the US embassy in Qatar.

I want to try to get some of this done before I leave the
US. Anyone having done this I would greatly appreciate any info that you have.

Sincerely,

A man who loves his family

Hi All,

I am new in Qatar and just got my RP this week. I want to apply for family VISA to get my wife and kid here. Now I dont have a 6 month's bank statement as I just got my RP and opened a bank account this week. Plus, I dont have a copy of Electricity Bills as the accommodation in which I am living, the owner pays it himself. So in this case, how can I apply? I need to apply next week, so your comments will be highly appreciated.

Thanks to All in advance.

I am going through this process. I guess I can give u 2 cent opinion:

1. You should get your marriage certificate and children birth certificate attested in your original country (or residence country, means if u r a american citizen, you got to get it done in U.S). this attestation includes 2 steps: 1st, get it done by notiry (maybe not neccessary) and submit to your contry Foreign Affairs Dept. to get it attested. 2nd, get this attested certificate attested again by Qatar Embassy in U.S. (you have to check out they accept individual submittion or not, if not, you have to ask the Foreign Affairs Dept. to do so).

2. If the above document has been attested, you can take them with you to Qatar (save carrier expenses).

3. Once you have your RP, you can submit all the above papers to the authority (this moment I don't know the exact name) of Qatar for your family's visa application.

Hope it helps. good luck!

just relax... you have asked this questing few times already. The answer is simple: FIRST you have to come here, THEN all your papers will be proceeded. You can do NOTHING prior to coming to Doha. You really have to start being more patient! "Qatar" and "rush" don't go together. Everything takes time here, and there is nothing you can do about it.

So just like samiko said,

-come here,

-get your RP,

-get your bank account and stuff

-ask your Company to issue a Family visa for your family.

Khalas and Good luck!

Redline, as above...all these issues are done by your employer.

Every company has a PRO, who is responsible for all this. The better the PRO is, the sooner you will get all the visas.

The best thing is to ask your company about everything.

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

1. You'll come in Qatar with a visit visa arranged by your employer (sponsor) - the company that you'll be working for.

2. After you've come in Qatar your sponsor will proceed your RP (Resident Permit) and once you got it you'll get your qatari ID, driving license, bank account and so on.

3. Later on your family will join you with a visit visa also arranged by your sponsor based on your RP. It'll be good to have with you the authenticated copies of your mariage license (certificate) and birth certificates.

4. Once your family has come in Qatar again your sponsor will proceed with your family members RPs.

You should better discuss this matter with your sponsor in advance.

regards
