Applying For a Job in Qatar

Jack_ Bauer
By Jack_ Bauer

Dear QL Member,

Hi I'm a newbie here in Doha.   I have been reading your posts in here and seems like there are lot of sensible people in these forums.  i have been managing a forum something like these in the Phils. and  most of you guys  are really very helpful.

****************

I've been trying my luck  here in Doha, For a week now I have been sending my CV by e-mail to at least 20  of the top  companies here in Qatar and up to now I have been unlucky to receive any reply from any of those companies.

BTW, I am a Male, Married 36 years old,  graduated from a reputable university in the Philippines,  and worked as Chief Accountant for 14 years from a Korean Electronics Manufacturing firm.  ( I am under visit visa)

Was it really that hard to get a job here ?

Or at least to get a reply from those companies?

How does it work here?

NEED YOUR HELP GUYS !!!   Your reply will ve very much appreciated........

Bute na lang men sinabi mo yon kasi minsan ay hesitant akong mag share ng info dito.  Yung Red Pope na tao ay sinabihan ako na musllim forum ito and sometimes makes you wonder diba.

By the way, its really good to meet Naruto fans na pinoy pa.

Congratulations Jack Bauer, hope to meet you guys sometime when I get there in maybe 2 months.  By the way, does any of you guys know a Edward Sales or Jason briones?

Thanks

hi jack_bauer,

sent you a PM. Dont hesitate to share which company you are, perhaps our forum mates here could also help you out soon and share info that may be helpful to you.

dont worry, QL is not like any other forum you are used to in the net (at least not those in the philippines), where everybody are either scams, bots or just have nothing to do useful over the internet and steal your identity and money.  we've got pretty helpful, sensible, professional and decent members here (at least the regular and active ones).

good luck ;)

Kabayang Kakashi kala  ko Japanese ka........,   just started Apr. 2, I asked for QR 7,000 for basic salary   but they could  only offer me  QR 4,000  + 2,500 HRA and  500 for transportation. ( Their company consists of 4 other companies, of which I will handle  2 companies for the  first 3 mos.,  )  Sorry pare pero I'm not sure if its safe to tell the name of the company here.  If u really need to know, just PM me.

However they asked me to first try their company for 1 month and if  I don't like I am free to go, they havent  processed my visa yet.  So right now I'm still looking for a better offer, one which could give me  a higher salary and allowances,   because the offer was too low for a family man with 2 kids like me.   I just took   an exam with a newly opened construction company yesterday, still waiting for the result.

unless you have some friends  in HR or Admin.  from those companies.......

but if you want to get the jobs easily...... the Classified Ads surely works,

I got a  call a day  after I faxed  my CV  after reading  Gulf Times Class. Ads.

As someone said, a week is very little time.I suggest you try the email way. Go on company websites and find out manager email addresses and finance manager addresses.

Sending to the HR department only sometimes gets lost among many C.V's. In addition, many local outfits have HR sections with job openings. You can apply to those too...

This may help

Are you really serious Mr. Adeel......

well anyway, i remembered it , one of my classmate in 2nd year class asked the same question......

Here's what our professor told us...... Hope it is same as your answer....

Debit and Credit both came from  past participles of  Latin words  Debitum (meaning what is due ) and Creditum  (meaning something entrusted to another )which are  "Debere" and "Credere"

other says it stands for  Debit Record   and Credit Record

but other says its just a short  for Debtor or Creditor...

whatever is correct among those three......all seems makes sense

i guess i have to follow ur advices... i'll try sending my CVs to some more companies,  and one to "hotfilipino4u" 's friend  too....

DR and CR come from the Latin past participles of debitum and creditum which are "debere" and "credere", respectively.

Another theory is that DR stands for "debit record" and CR stands for "credit record". Finally, some believe the DR notation is short for "DEBTOR" and CR is short for "CREDITOR".

For any well reputed company, it took 1 to 2 months to review the cv.

Please have your hope.

since you have a great experience in accounts.

Answer the following question, if you correctly answer the question, i will personaly try for you to get a job for you.

Debit (Dr) Credit (Cr), why we write Dr for Debit and Cr for credit, Please explain the logic.

Regards

Adeel
