Creative Writing Workshop group in Doha

"Poetry arrived i search of me. I don't know , I don't know where it came from, from winter or a river. I don't know how or when, no, they were not voices, they were not words, nor silence...."

I don't know what to call it either, but it came to me one day and writing became part of my life. For the longest time I believed what Hemingway said about how "writing, at it's best, is a lonely life". I used to think this way until I enrolled in a creative writing class back home and learned otherwise. Though writing is a solitary sport, writing workshops get those creative juices flowing and allow us to hear direct feedback from our peers.

It is for this reason and more that I would like to start an (english) writing workshop for people here in Doha who are interested in honing their creative skills and meeting people who share similar passions.

If anyone is interested..pls post a reply here or email me at [email protected]

( btw, a happy shout out to those who replied to my last post about this workshop. I hope we can get things started up by the first friday of April)

I agree with you Carrie, it's a great idea to organize a creative writing workshop here in Doha. I used to write poems in my native language back home but I love the works of Pablo Neruda in english :) I hope there are others out there who would also be interested to participate :)
