There was thread a while ago about the door policy at Garveys. Some people were finding it difficult to get in according to their nationality. I agree that Garvey's can be good though if you are lucky enough to get in. The Irish Bar at the Sheraton is GREAT! Very friendly and sociable. They also have sport on the tv. Golf club also good.

have you tried going to Garveys club, lots of young people go there, you can watch footy, av a few beers, play darts n pool. also av a swimming pool

Very well considering all my gutterballs yesterday - what an affront, much worse spicemom put it on real thick to get me over there and said she only thre (threw) gutterballs.

The escort back to my car was impressive  and had a good laugh all in all, because I had received some very bad news before I come over there.

thats right skdkak we all know you, so there's no worries that darude will throw u out if you turn up for any of the events (even if your not in the social group) but i guess since the number of people required for the dhow trip was full its no point in keeping that thread alive :) besides who the hell takes darude seriously in QL?

smokey... It was not removed. I deleted that thread and some comments related to that thread in this thread & that was for a simple reason. The way my thread and posts were taken by a lot here was not the intention.

It is very tiring but only part time and I love it. I did warn you I am a terrible cook! Last time I tried to make brownies I cooked them for 40 minutes and then had to POUR the mixture down the sink!

Yes, Steve is correct. You are right, I do still owe you cookies, by the time we get around to it it will probably be next Christmas! I am working now part time in Doha so less time on QL but all is well.

I think the problem is not when people SAY they can't make it, but when they say they will be there and then don't turn up. Because I live in Dukhan, bothe Xena and DaRuDe have both been understanding that we are unable to make so many of the weekday things during the term time. I have been to a coffee evening and to the bowling and really enjoyed it, it's hard to meet people here, especially when you don't live in Doha. I love it when I meet people in Doha who I only know through QL, I feel as if I have friends!

Have and am willing to dedicate my self for all the members on this site. this site is nothing with out you members specially the regulars.

Fine i will step aside and lets see what you guys can do.
