I'm sorry for not passing by lately. It turns out I have to delay my flight until July because I have to attend my brother's wedding next month.

Wow... so good to find a volleyball topic here in Qatar Living.

I've just realized lately that I am a frustrated volleyball player. I never had real

experience playing but I think I am gonna' be good at it if I'd just focus.  

I am just about 5'4" in height, male, and not a high leaper. So, I'm gonna'

settle with being a libero (most liberos- and the most effective ones- are short in my country. So I think this is the best position for me.) 

I don't have a very athletic body, but I am very determined. At the end of the

day, it's a mind game as any sport is. 

By the way, is this thing for women only? Or it'd be like men vs women? Haha! 

Right now I am out of Qatar but I'll be back probably mid next month. I hope

Well.... i called a phillipino guy who runs one volleyball association.... he told me that the tournament is gonna start in May while we will start praticing in two weeks time....!!!

So if we are seriously thinking for making a team so we have to start practicing sooon..................!!!

Where did May come from as a date?

Guys.... if anyone really interested of making a team then hurry up.... i guess the tournament is starting in May.....!!!

I used to play for my school side and for my college side... but since then i havent played again......!!!!

I actually made an account to reply to this thread. I love volleyball, I'm a senior at my last year of High school and I plau volleyball every P.E lesson. In addition, I joined the varsity volleyball team! The sport is pretty cool.

szegedibetti - have played for premier league teams in Ireland, as well as for the National Team (3 European Championships (Section c) as well as briefly playing with Salford City (UK Prem) before deciding to retire, because I'm just too small....and unfit!!!

Molten, what I feared, has happenned and is now official- my post has been hijacked .  SERIOUSLY- we need to concentrate on finding the right people/ team members and then start hitting the ball with passion. (or Nissan pick-up truck drivers' heads-I am not too fussed)

I used to play for a lesbian team in the London league, and with the UN in Kathmandu, as you can see I am not too picky as long as we train and play hard. (and I don't have to cut my hair or put on ninja gear)

Dear Ms. Volley Ball Team,

Please don't set your hopes to high and for goodness sake if your hair means anything to you at all don't cut it.

QL has enough Guys who look like guys with brilliant bodies (I think) so it will not be necessary for you to cut you hair and polster you body like a man apart from that the you will most likely not have the nice hairy legs of a man.

Smoke is a cat and at the best of times crawling around of all fours purring at any female he can brush his furry tail against, ringohiqups professes to play with buds, now we all know this is a part of a flower so he plays with flowers and is obviously inadquate for this. Luckyjinx is an avid badminton player but is looking for harder sports (probably wrestling) as he/she wants to loose weight. I would love to volunteer but I am already over the hill and have great difficulty keeping myself upright on my two pins but would still like to loose weight too.

So with all these positive circumstances it might be better for you to keep your hair and set your passions less on becoming a man and more of keeping you female status.

Mate, of course you can join! You will need stamina, to be flexible (or willing to become flexible) and strong arms. It helps if you are over 6 ft. Otherwise there is always plan B- getting a a leg extension... or C- bringing a ladder...
