Help - Budget Hotels

QT
By QT

I'm coming to Doha within the next fortnight and need a budget hotel for me and my business partners, (and I mean BUDGET, as the company is relatively new)

Does anyone know of any budget hotels in Doha, I can't find any on the internet and does anyone know how much I should be paying.

It will be me + min of 1 and max of 5 more people.

Please help if you can.

     Please

Many Thanks.

     Thank You

I'll be here for a year or so until all is in order!

Then its off to set up the next project somewhere in the world.

(Wherever my bosses feel they can make money, they are already eyeing Malaysia)  Who knows, I may settle here in Doha if I like it!

www.asiarooms.com. They have most hotels listed and you can book online. You also have reviews so at least you know if the place is a flea-pit. Good luck.

Is not to expensive considering the prices in Qatar and they may have cheaper rooms. These are hotels I use when I have friends come from abroad, not everyone want and expensive hotel but it shuold be clean and bug free.

I do because when I first came to Doha I used a map to get around but in any case it is near the souk and pretty central and the management are decent.

QT

Regency Palace # 974 4316347

hope this helps and most of them are quite central so easy to move around with taxi.

ok this is gonna be a big shame for me but i dont know street names in Doha lol! Ok so the 400 riyals one is on the left hand side when ur going towards The Center from Ramada Hotel..you take that small tiny round about or you have to go all the way to Jaidah fly over take a U turn and come back. The single room is pretty small but ok for SINGLE person.

350 riyals room is just hop skip and roll away from Sofitel if you stand in front of Sofitel and look across the road you will see Doha Palace havent seen the room inside though :)

Is this the one on Al Esmakh street?? They are cheaper that others it is true but also have a list of regular customers but worth a try - it is not spectacular but clean and has a good restaurant.

is 350 to 400 riyals a budget? let me know if there's something cheaper than that. for 350 there's the doha palace hotel near sofitel i think its for single bed. 400 for a place next to the Center forgot the name could be Grand something something.

We used to have a chap on QL (CYman -not seen him post for a while) who stayed in a hotel around Al Mansoura - I believe he also receommended it to Scarlett when she had a friend staying in Doha for a couple of weeks.  I know Scarlett checked the hotel out before her friend arrived.  She is out at the moment, but I will contact her later - failing which I will see her tomorrow at the gym! :D

I'll see if I can find it out for you - no idea of cost, but he used to come to Doha (like you are) for a few weeks at a time before he came here for good.

Erm... well... I don't like to sound like a loner, as there seem to be so many thread advertising such people, but I have NO FRIENDS in Qatar!

Well, except the lovely QL family.

But seriously, I don't know anyone in Qatar.

So I just wanted a few recommendations and tel numbers of budget hotels so I could start making phone calls.

You have to choose your time well as if there are any conferences etc. on in Doha you will pay a high rate. Depending on where you are and how many rooms you need try and book it from outside. If you have freiends who have a corporate rate somewhere then the Ramada has good prices for that.

If you know any secretary working for a company that has corporate rates ask her to do it and put you down as self payment.
