MISYAR Marriages

Do we have misyar marriages in qatar..!!

For those who dont know what misyar marriage is :

Nikah Misyar or "travellers' marriage" (Arabic: نكاح المسيار) is the Sunni Muslim Nikah (marriage) contract carried out via the normal contractual procedure, with the specificity that the wife gives up several of her rights by her own free will, such as living with the husband, equal division of nights between wives in cases of polygamy, rights to housing, and maintenance money ("nafaqa").[1]

The couple continue to live separately from each other, as before their contract, and see each other to fulfill their needs in a halaal manner when they please.

where the people of the future were justifying multiple marriages by saying it was the wedding celebration/party which counted and NOT the actual celebration of the sacred vow of marriage to one person for life.

If you didn't understand what I was quoting, then no matter ....  I'm the one reading the book, so no reason you should be expected to get the gist of what I meant :D

Marriage...Wedding...duh!

Jauntie...whats the difference?...are they not the same?

in a book I'm currently reading about a future society ATF (After The Flood - also know to us as what the result of Global Warming may be).

The 'Elders' of the Temple in this new world society had the following view:

"Weddings were a very big deal, absolutely central to the life of the community. There was nothing upon which the Temple placed more importance than the sanctity of marriage......

Marriages were good. It threfore went without saying that the more of them a person had, the better, more holy and mor filled with love that person was.

There had of course been a time when the nation's spiritual leaders, in their weakness and ignorance, had misunderstood that which the Lord and the Love desired from the great institution of marriage. Then it had been assumed that Jesus's supportive words delivered during the wedding at Cana indicated that the ideal spiritual course was to STAY married. It was now understood that Jesus had in fact stressed the importance of GETTING married....

Jesus did not celebrate a MARRIAGE at Cana, he celebrated a WEDDING. It was the wedding that counted ..."

Apologies for the interruption, but the text of my book was becoming more real to me as this thread went on!!!

I just know I read this idea of marriage in Iran and this was the reason given, I don't know any Iranians myself who participated in this I just know this was the offer.

"But it is only for Muslims and I have never heard of it being recognized here. The point of misyar is usually for a man who has another wife to take a 2nd one who he doesn't have to support in any way. Often, they keep it a secret from their first wife and kids. It's done in Saudi and is basically just an excuse to legitimize an affair"

The Reason for  Mesyar marriage is not ONLY as u mentioned .. lemme explain more to you about our religion and culture.

If a man is working away from his country let's say for 5 years

and this man didn't find the right girl to marry her .. but he still want to fulfill his needs in a non-prohibted way .. so he might deal with a girl that he will pay her some amount of money and live together but Only for the 5 years ..

This is also called Mesyar marriage ..

they can live together ... the girl might drop down some of her rights ... at the end it's exactly like "Zenna" which is forbidden.

"Zenna is arabic word means having a sexual affair with a girl not his wife"

determining a time for the marriage is forbidden also ...

a lot of Sunnis in my country have said that this kind of marriage is Forbidden ...

finally the conclusion of this marriage is as follow:

1- Man fulfilled his needs for certain time and he didn't pay much money as in normal marriage .. he didn't have kids (as some will make it a condition)

just as if he has been with a cheep girl paying her some money and go except in this case he won't stay for one night.

2- Girl lost her virginty, in society she gained the name divorced .. she didn't get all her rights she never been treated as the girl for this man forever (I'm sure all u girls like that feeling) she fulfilled her needs equally as the man did

we can see from the above that this marriage make the Man a Winner and the woman become the Loser...

so after clarification for this points .. what do u think?

PSst ..GYpsy ... burn it up

P.S. After knowing and saying all this .. i'm still interested to marry the same way i ain't losing any thing .. so why not ?? but i'm still making my researches to know if it's forbiden or not. may be there are other points which i don't know

Is not about bashing others is about the truth. If you consider bashing, then is your opinion for which I respect.  But the morale of the story "Are we, Christians and Moslem alike a "religious and dogmatic society" that will follow the  A,B,C AND not A, C, Z?. We are talking about the Ten Commandments.OR  is it just a convenient way for people to say : "I'm christian or Moslem"and I do the hell I want everyday, except on Fridays or Sundays, when they ask for forgiveness of their sins? then IT starts the carnage life style over and over.  For me is just Hypocritical either way you want to painted, It should applied both christians and moslem. No excuses for the immoralities. The Red Pope of Qatar Living

Actually I have read about this before, where the situation is presented in a totally different aspect, mainly this is to save women who don't have a husband from becoming old spinsters. However, when he has enough of this one he can travel onto the next one - how simple why don't we all get this travellers marriage thing lol.

I have heard of this happening in Iran.
