Saudi girl sex-change to get lisence

RIYADH, AUGUST 21 - A 19-year-old Saudi Arabian woman, Myriam, has undergone a successful sex-change operation in Jeddah and now, with her new name of Khaled, aspires for just one thing: a driving licence. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are banned from driving, added Okaz daily, reporting the news today. "The first idea that came to my mind a few hours before the operation, was to have a driving licence," Myriam/Khaled told the newspaper, adding she was encouraged by her family to have the operation. Sex change operations are rare in ultra-conservative Saudi Arabia. "I entered (the hospital) with the abaya (traditional women's garment) and I came out with thub, ghotra and ogal, the white tunic and hat worn by men," Myriam/Khaled said.

Sex changes are seldom phenomenon and been heard from other part of the world before also. But first time come into view from Saudi though it is surprising how come Saudi authority permit to do such sort of transplant when they are so strict in other matter. Normally it's been done by some people having affection with the similar sex or with a typical hormonal instability. A Wholesome girl just because of D.L. changing her sex dose not makes any sense .  I find princess habibah   observation in this topic is most fitting.

I don't look forward to go to Saudi again. I enjoy driving and I cannot go back there in that case, otherwise I'll have my sex change as well, if I need to go to Saudi again.

Oh my! She must have been with both male and female Intersexual!

My mother had a very close friend that grew up as a man. She had children and everything.. but then decided to become a woman because that is where she/he felt more comfortable. She had the hormones for both male and female. Although I am not sure if she could procreate as a women like she did as a man.

These types of "sexual" confusions are more confusing to us as humans than they are in the natural world. Cases of clitoral hypertrophy (a penis-like organ on the female) is quite common in nature and is actually the "normal" condition in many types of animal (such as the hyena and the spider monkey). Similarly, undescended testis are common in elephants. It becomes confusing in humans because much of our role in society is determined by sex. If we don't know whether someone is male or female (whether this is due to biological ambiguity or some type of cross-dressing) our culture does not instruct us well as to how we should interact with that person.
