Question for Internet/Computer Experts
Hello guys,
I recently started using the wireless connection at this new place i moved to and the internet connection is perfect but the problem is that i cannot download anything using my P2P sharing program, Bitlord... It always gives me this sign that there is no internet connection while regular browsing on IE/Mozilla works perfectly...
Please advise and thanks a lot!
.
I feel that Qtel is blocking multiple connections these days because if I open more than 4 sites at the same time, the speed drops alot.

i think the problem is not on bit torrent or utorrent..
i think it depends on how many TRACKERS you have.
my download is 100kb/s for one item.
(but only selected to if you got many trackers in list..)
also try searching for FXG, or AXXO. this movies is very fast to download.

uninstall limewire.and theres a new version(it fixes the long waiting time for connection BUG) out download it.as for torrents i think it slow in all qatar.mines supposed to be 120kb/s instead its 50.
before you do anything check the setting on limewire go tools:options:youll see under sharing on the left :speed:.change connection speed to what you have either dsl or dial up.then go :downloads: and make download bandwidth 100%(unlimited)........how do i know?it happened to me before.
as for gmrleb ithink you should try using bitcomet on www.bitcomet.com
and the 2 fastest are limewire(best for songs) from www.limewire.com or www.limewire.org and when you connect to a wireless network it should be yours.if its a pulic i dont think you can download from it using p2p coz there are 2 ip adresses.
and ares (for movies and songs) www.aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net
i really hope this helped.let me know what happens

now heres something weird:
i used to download lots from the office. however, during the past couple of months things have been very bad... bitcomet shows many seeders but downloads hardly more than 1kb/s. Limewire says "waiting for stable connections".
HOWEVER, i was surprised to see things back to normal sometime last week. this coincided with the cable break (wen things are supposed to be slow!). but since yesterday, its back to 0kb/s!
i desperatly want to see LOST. can anyone guide me to somewhere i can download it without using P2P?
so wat do the tech gurus say?

try another program called bit torrent and also as pointed out before the internet connections have been very slow even though Qtel has reported that it has fixed them and to top it off they block everything including web sites that have no offending or illegal content , there are some good sites to help you out with the port forwarding ,good luck anyway
just use programs that hide IP address. and it will solve ur problems.
actually, u can also surf blocked site of qtel... ssshhh.. (hehehe)

Thanks okamalo, Now its the ports that need to be checked.
Like okamalo suggested ensure no security firewall at your desktop is preventing the connection.
If you are not using any firewalls or have disabled the Windows built in fiewall and still not working,
Then I guess it should be the ADSL Router.
( In case you are not using a router then I think the problem is with S/W itself.)
The problem is getting the right ports opened. If you are using a router then check it. Then, there is a probability that QTEL could have blocked it. ( of late they seem to be doing it.)
IS anyone using Bitlord successfully in Doha thru QTEL's ADSL? please let us know.
