thanks...its not only muslims tho that do the slamming..others do it too...just right now its more obvious with the really vocal muslims (again...NOT talking about the majority, so don't eat me alive here, folks)and I might be using the wrong terminology AGAIN...

I think what everyone doing all over the world is so sad and breaks my heart..seeing the people getting shot, women and children, homeless due to wars, the atrocities in the name of religion/war/whatever..is all a useless waste of human life. The things the world could do with the effort and money put into fighting, is mind boggling.

As per your last statement...the ignorance definitely goes both ways(ie, not just muslims, but other religions as well, AT muslims), PH...ignorance isn't biased to a certain religion or race..its worldwide ...why isn't respect and acceptance spread as easily as hatred and intolerance???

too many people would rather just wallow in their own personal ideas of what other religions and races are like, instead of learning about and meeting other, so they never see them for what they truly are...PEOPLE...

I am REALLY Iraqi, Palestinean, Sumalian, Lebanese...etc when it comes to defending a country against foriegn occupation. It is an honor & something to be proud of!

I agree with you Scarlett and I have been wondering on the same lines from the past few days. I can certainly feel the hatred which exudes from the post of certain QLers and I start wondering if being knowledagble is really more important than being compassionate.

When I was writing my post.. I felt quite alot of people were offended.

the british in particular at the fact that I raised the point that both classicism and racism exist in Britain.

Unfortunately I broke the unspoken tabboo of mentioning things that are kept under the table and only voiced in a very subtle manner.

It would have been an injustice not to voice these things bluntly to the non-british(rather than in a subtle way only the british can understand)

I myself was deeply offended by the fact that any person (non muslim in particular) would continue to use one line of an article to justify that the actions of certain people were justified by Islam and the interpretation of muslims on shariah law.

without really knowing anything about muslims in britain. Who the shariah council are.. Nor taking any feedback about who the council are and why they exist.

I also thought it funny that people should associate shariah law with people WHO MAY HAVE FOUND A LOOPHOLE WITHIN AN ORGANIZATION and stay so determined to use it as evidence as to why the religion of Islam is so messed up!

Pointing fingers has been consistant with so many peoples post. If one person say such and such is relevant in a certain community. A thousand other people will say... but but but.. this also happens in the middle east or this and that happens to us.. or! Yes all who write are probably intelligent enough to figure out that no people or culture are the only victims or perpetrator of mentioned crimes.

It is absolutely not a hate thread in your honor, just a discussion on your contraversial post about hidden agendas of people on this site.

May I kindly remind you that we are all living side by side with many religions and many nations and all mangage to survive and get along with each other traditions, likes and dislikes. There is no "hidden agendas" with them. Seems we only have a few on QL who seem to get upset (with words or eventual jokes innocently written) who keep popping up there heads so that misunderstandings can be magnified and then, go straight into the offensive.

Well on his side I have to mention he is very articulate and writes very well and his wife may be a doctor apart from what any of us may think.
