Travel Agency and the visit & business visa

I don't know if other expat will understand this story at all.  I'm just taking my chances some might be able to relate.

This is all about Fahd Travel Agency or sometimes they themselves a recruitment/placement agency visa business.  The first time I've heard this story, a new friend of course, I didn't believe her and even blamed her.  Until I've got to know more friends and telling the same story and I finally pity them.

I'm wondering if how powerful is the person behind this agency, with the sister company al deera.  They sell business and visit visa for QR3000 for three months and a 28 days visit visa renewable til the 3rd month QR1250, and the renewal after 28 days another QR1250.  When you exit they charge the client for around QR3500 for the roundtrip ticket to dubai or Bahrain and a show money at least QR5000.  I'm trying to calculate how much the visit visa is as well as the renewal, and for the exit how much is the roundtrip airfare and the visa.  Poor Filipino people who are trying their luck and promised for employment.  They are actually the unemployed in the Philippines or employed but underpay. They sell properties just come up with the required amount of money for the airfare & visa and reasonable qatari riyals for their existence in Qatar while jobless especially if they don't have relatives. They may have friends or relatives but can hardly help them to survive. If they end up jobless before the visa expire or renewed they will renew or exit, another money for fahd or aldeera.  In some cases, there are people stucked up in dubai & Bahrain airports, especially if the visa is not released and other sad stories of these victims.

According to them if you attempt to complain especially for the costly and price increase without any notice MARIA the counter staff will give these people a make face and will start nagging them and other verbal abuse.

I've heard that the immgiration is now randomly checking and are being strict on visas etc.. I hope they will spend time on checking Fahd & al deera how they operates and what these travel agencies are for.

... is really a bad thing. But no problem now as Fahad Agency is now on top of this topic and will make sure that ANYBODY who is slandering them will have to either leave or refused reentrance in this country. This is the appreciation you people show to one of the only agencies that helps you without ripping you off? Of course you need showmoney coming from the Philippines, Fahad Agency advances this to you before you even left the Philippines! They then (of course, the money is theirs) take it from you upon arrival! What is wrong with that?

It is NOT illegal to come over to this country on a visit visa - if it was how would they get in? What is illegal is to make false accusations and turn against the hand which feeds you. Whether you let your visas run over its expiry date or don't comply with the instructions of your sponsors - don't expect that to just go through without the sanctions that come with it.

Next time, instead of being UNGRATEFUL, remember these people helped you to enter the country to get a job! And Delfaizah... 'you have been told'... unless you have proof that goes with your statements you should be more careful with what you post - your passport is not with you and at the same time you are slandering your visit sponsors? Tst tst on you! They have read all this and they are holding your passport - you should know better!!!

Fahad Agency worked for me THUMBS UP and I am 100% behind them. I have witnessed myself all the help and support they have given to many people.

You guys don't even know what you are talking about. Allow me to clarify this matter. There is such a Fahad Travel Agency and there is Fahad Manpower Services. I guess you are referring to Fahad Manpower Services which deals tourist visas. You mention also Aldeera Travels, as far as I know, they had been helping out our fellow kababayans as to how to get cheaper fares.

If you are on a tourist visa, I guess it would not mean you will come to this place and work. But we, Pinoys welcome new opportunities. Thus, if one likely offered for a job,One would choose to stay and work.

I guess there is such a misunderstanding on the perception on this tourist-visa-thing. As far as I know, these Agents are dependent with the Immigration Rules. Now that, Thousands of people were put in Doha’s jail, I think, it is really prerogative of this Agencies to keep watchful and stricter with their processing.

Good idea! Please warn all innocent (and not so innocent) people that buying a visa is illegal.

I was also told by a Filipina named Marj working in Fahd Travel Agency that when my second visit visa expires on October 15th, i have to go back to my home country. I am just waiting for my visa from UAE. I hope Fahd Travels will return my passport when i need to leave for Abu Dhabi this thursday.

Pls spread this warning to all innocent people who are planning to buy visa from Fahd Travels.

My first visa expired. I went to Bahrain for a visa change (not an extension). My second visa is expiring soon. They wont allow me to buy again. 6 of the 16 Filipinoes who went to Bahrain told me that it is their third or even fourth time. I dont know what law this Fahd Travel Agency is following. If u have any chance of taking a visa from other agency, do it. Dont let this happen to u.

From what you say this does sound like a visa-for-sale scam. A recruitment agency would arrange a job and a visa, not provide a visa and then tell the hapless client they are on their own. Selling visas for which the person is not eligible (i.e. a business visa for someone without a job and an employer) is illegal. It's a little trickier with buying a tourist/visit visa for the purpose of coming to Qatar with the hope of finding a job. While not strictly illegal, it is not the purpose of a tourist/visit visa. It is a huge gamble however. Those who buy these visas are at the mercy of the seller in terms of time limits and money charged. (Let me say here that is it illegal to overcharge for the price of the visa and air tickets.) Please, people, do not expose yourselves to blackmail and exploitation by buying into these schemes. You have NO legal protection if you do. You have NO recourse to the exorbitant fees you may be charged. You have NO guarantee of a job. You may have NO choice in the job you take or the salary you receive. Do not willingly be part of this evil system.

have a friend who is also fooled by Fahd Travel Agency connecte to AL Deera Travels. I was with her when we pay the 2,500.00 Riyals for a business visa in Fahad Travels which is located at Najma for a 3-month stays renewable every month. After 4-days, my friend got a job and started working, after fourteen (14) days, Fahd Travel Agency told that she needs to exit in homecountry for they are unable to renew her business visa. Imagine that…for a 3-month business visa, she can able to stay only 16 days (we paid the penalty). Luckily the company shouldered her expenses back home but she needs to repay this costs. I strongly suggest also this Fahd Travel Agency/Al Deera Travels should be investigated for the plight of those people they deceived.

This is very true. I am a living testimony to this article. A Visayan-Filipina with a big mole on her face, named Marj, who works with Al Deera/ Fahd Travels acts like she is the Queen of Qatar. She treats her clients/ customers like her slaves begging her for visa. When i asked her if i can buy a third visa, she shouted at me. I told her, i wont stoop down to her level. Her Indian colleague also quarelled with me even if i wasnt talking to him. They called their Qatari boss to scare me. The boss was a little courteous than his employees.
