Peace of Mind

Hi Gang,
I am starting to freak out because I have not received any calls from my online job submissions. My boyfriend leave on the 11th to come to Qatar and I am so nervous about finding a job.
If anyone has any advice on the job search and the seperation from my mate, I am all ears....The anxiety is starting to overwhelm me..
i understand the feeling. I was there, too. I had a long distance relationship with my girlfriend for 4 months.
She's here in Qatar and i was back from my country. It was difficult, but it is possible to have it.
send me your cv maybe i cn pass it on to the right people that i know of.
i'm not an HR but i can just pass it for you. it's no big deal for me.
i see cv's being passed around my work place, so i'm sure i can send it as well just for them to see and they might consider... can't promise you anything.
just wanna tell you that i had applied thru e-mails, too. 2 weeks before i left i sent out 100++ e-mails. after i arrived in qatar i got 2 calls, and one of them hired me the following day...
is that luck or what? well, anyways, if you try harder... (sending 100 emails, you will get maybe 2-5 calls). Send out gazillions... then maybe you'll have millions of calls then...
I have been looking actively for the last 2 months. I am looking for positions in the IT/Telecom/Pharma markets but I am open to all industries. I have applied to university jobs, telecom, and bank companies. I am a software tester which basically means I take a set of requirements and test the application for its quality, performance and ensure it meets the customer requirements.
He says for me to be calm it will be easier once he is there..but for those whose mate left prior to them...I am sure you can understand my anxiety. Since I am in the U.S. its such a huge distance, and I dont want so much time to past before we can see each other or for me to finally move. He wont be able to come back to the states for a long time so I am nervous and this is my first long distance relationship
If u r applying in a system-based HR, indeed it will take time. I suggest you search in the web for the company that you like... then check out the "Contact Us" info inside this company's website... find out who is the HR manager/ the manager in that division (that you like)attach a CV, then mention the job that you want...
it's guaranteed to attract attention and it will help you avoid companies who are time-wasters...
Calm down. This happens normally because online applications takes longer than applying in person. You have not mentioned how long you've been waiting, i mean since when did you apply. It takes not lessthan 3 weeks upward. It depends what company and what position you applied for.
No problem let him come. later you can get a visit visa and come and look for a job here. that will be much good.
