You will have a tough time with just 6500. Cant have any savings

sapna...expenses

Could be average Qr3,000. Qr1,000 per head. If one more child is born add another 1,000.

So you could save QR 3,500. If that looks good then ok.

But double check your housing, whether its allowance or you will be housed, as the allowance will remain the same while the rent will keep increasing at least 20% annually.

That is indeed positive to see buddy, that you are having a decent life...and indeed the amount you get paid...is quite reasonable...infact it is in par with the decent living conditions here...

Sapna, I'm sure you would have read all the above,

My two cents worth is here...

As mentioned above, look at things and expenses in its singularity, I mean, dont start comparing and start getting influenced by the high-flyers in this place...there are mediocres and high-flyers in this place...

As mentioned by yourself, you fall in the mediocre range, I understand amount is on the lower side but look at the brighter side, accomodation and transport are being taken care off for you, all you need to look for is about a couple of thousands for your expenses of the month at the house and a little bit of entertainment...so dont worry you will be pretty fine, with a decent lifestyle...

All I would want to add above all that is,

DONT TRY TO COMPROMISE ON YOUR LIVING CONDITIONS ANYTHING ELSE YOU COULD THINK TWICE, THRICE, BUT DONT THINK TOO MUCH ON THE CONDITIONS AND THE PLACE YOUR ACCOMODATION WOULD BE PROVIDED FOR, BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY, YOUR HOUSE IS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU WOULD COME BACK FOR A LITTLE PEACE OF MIND, AND TRUST ME NOT HAVING A GOOD HOUSE CAN SCREW UP THINGS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND...

Other than that, I'm quite positive that you should be quite fine to do here in Qatar...

So cheers, and welcome aboard,...

Any other info let us know...

If I remember correctly, the last time u were on QL introuducing urself saying that ur from b'lore.... I actually gave u a complete pic as to how wud the expenses be here..... Can u pls chk that....???

Anyhow, even i am working here as grade 10 employee but the sal is slightly higher than what you have mentioned...Apart from that I am paid for accomidation of 5.5k & transportation of 1.2k.... U know what i am having a peaceful life here with my twin daughters who r 1.5yrs old & my wife being at house taking care of them. All u need is max of 2k per month as expenses for household & u may include additional 500 for entertainment.... Of course not lavishly... U can easily get to save around 3k without any hassle... but make sure u get atleast 5.5k or 6 k for accomidation for single bedroom house & transportaion as required by u.... This is a real life for an Indian espat living here. I even own a car for which i pay a monthly loan of 1200k which is from my transport allowance...... Any more info u need let me know... Dont go by too many things, it wil actually confuse u....

Well said for a change from all others here...

You did put a positive picture...in front of this person...

Hats off to you brother...goood answer...

People, learn from this answer...I guess, we need this kinda approach in QL...things are getting toooo negative...

So come on people, lift your spirits and try and see if you can put a little bit of a rosy picture...with a few little thorns about Qatar...

Cheers...

You can survive with dal roti but not luxury life for sure.

You say accomodation and transport free. If so

Grocery will coast you 1500 QR, so you may save 5000 QR or less.

you have to decide my friend!!!!!

this amount is not enough if you are planning to come with your family...atleast you should have 10000qtr as your basic salar....it is expensive here for children education...

if your wife also planning to do a job. then you can manage to some level....

You have mentioned Grade 10, which company are you trying to refer, if you are refering to an Oil & Gas Company this will be OK because you will be provided housing, transport + children educ. etc.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going....

QR 6500 with a wife and a kid would be difficult right now. even if the accomodation is for free. the cost of living here right now is on the rise, just take note of that. hope this helps
