First please try not to laugh about this…we received an email from one of our company manager…..…about what?....errrr..PIGEONS….a group of Pigeons are regularly camping on their signage (company signboard).....and wants US now to get rid of it…...lol..HOW????

Can you give suggestion how to make them shoo away? And oh btw, we need to submit a progress report for this issue…so even it’s a crazy task (and all of us in our department are laughing about it), we are trying to get of a solution..

I would truly understand if you will post crazy ideas here…but I hope one of them works…:D

Remove the Sign Board. Why would you want to kill the pigeons.

Where are the so-called animal lovers who were supporting someones offer of an exorbitant price to retrieve his dog?

DOnt these pigeons deserve at least some sympathy?

Owen ... beside all the jokes ! ok am serious now ;-)

tell them to cover the open area with the Plastic Transparent sheets or put a net there (not on the signboard) just around the open area or he can call a carpenter who can design a wooden net walls and fix it permanently.

These are the cheap methods....

This guy is really out of his mind and got nothing to do but trouble others with what he sees as trouble. Is there is any idiots other than him in that company or he is just singing out of the flying birds group? Guess he should invite people to have Piegons Lunch and find a way to bomb those piegons all at once and had grilled piegons ...

Away from this ... seriously, ask him to get a life or go up himself to see how can he drive those away ...

The spikes don't work, I can't count how many times I've driven by those spikes and seen pigeons sitting on them. You just need to put a falcon decoy up there and they will stay far away.

we are having quite a laugh here with our (colleagues) suggestions: like hire a person just for the task of shooing them away (as speed's advice), lol have a negotiation with one pigeon (crazzzzyyyyy), build a pigeon house, or throw regular feeds on the building entrance, foyer (just below the signage), install a scarecrow, a falcon (as gypsy suggested)...

as of now, they are considering mirror, the detector..:)

a statue of an owl or a falcon, as been mentioned before, would work pretty well...and it also will decorate your signboard nicely and draw more attention to it, which eventually might be beneficial for your company...

Indiano, I think the mirror will attract even more pigeons.....lady pigeons of course!!!!!!!!

Well, Owen, do as the farmers do...put glossy shining colorful ribbons on the signboards..this should help to keep pigeons away....

Owen .... the best solution if your company creates a new position say "SHOO SHOO ASSISTANT" .... palace a table n a chair on the signboard and they put you in there and you keep doing SHOO SHOO whenever any bird approach the signboard .... salary you can discuss with then depending on number of SHOO SHOO you do in a day ;-)

Put cats on top of your signage to chase away the pigeons. Then if the cat population on your billboard gets too much to handle then puts dogs to chase the cats....hehehe

Anyway, seriously.... bird spikes would be the best humane solution (instead of poison)....

Or you can raise a few pairs of Peregrine Falcons.... one city (I think in the US) did this to prey on pigeon over-population. Pigeons are the basic prey of the Peregrine Falcon....

My mother used to throw hot water at them because they got all her balcony dirty!! she was sooo mad having to clean all that stuff stuck everywhere...for some reason they don't come back as many as they use to before.

Never take someone for granted, you might wake up one day and realize that you have lost a diamond

By anonymous• 17 Jan 2008 11:12

Use ultrasound to get rid of them. You can get ultrasound detectors that starts sounding when someones inside range of the detector.

I use it to scare off cats that used to sit on my cars. After I got one, no cats have even been nearby. :)

a) rat poison

b) put spikes (ie upturned nails) on the signage so they can't land.
