Resignation Queries

i have been working in qatar for 2 and half years. i want to resign from my present job with an MNC. i require some advice urgently.

1. my contract is for unlimited period( my rp expires in Aug 2008). is one month notice period adequate?

2. what if the company does not accept the resignation. can they hold me back? do i need any papers or documents from them?

then in that case do i need to send a copy of the resignation by email so that i have a proof that i have submitted my resignation.

3. i have a copy of my multiple exit. can i leave qatar even if i do not have their approcal (but i will be surely losing my gratuity). can they stop me from working with any company in GCC countries. i mean will it be a criminal offense.

4. i have got an offer from a company in one of the GCC countries and i need to join there with in a month. Can anyone help me out?

Dear all

If one goes on an annual leave and after that if one gives notice period of resignation (contract says one month). Asa rule, can it be combined with leave and if so, can one come back to Qatar to complete all formalities. I was told that Qatar embassy in home country can also cancel the visa on passport.

Notice period is one month, but there is no end of service benefit, as per contract which is flat

Notice period for resignation will depends on your conditions in your contract..

Like deweller said you will loose your ESB (End of Service Benefit) if you leave without formally resigning and cancleling your RP.

Dear

i read your comments, perfect.

if one goes on annual leave and then decide not to come back. then if one formally send one's resignation thru email, then in that case, will the company pay the benefits like balance leave encashment, etc. can the rp cancelled for family also in their qatar embassy in that very country.

Notice period is as stipulated in your individual labour contract. They cannot stop you unless they can prove that you have caused material damage to the company.

Going that route he will lose any accrued ESB.

If u are goin to join some other country, u can leave from here on an emergency leave. Post ur resignation from der and get ur qatar RP canceled from the qatar embassy from that country. Dey can never ban u from working in other GCC countries.

AS USUAL NONE OF THE REGULAR MEMBERS WILL HELP YOU BY ANSWERING SUCH QUESTIONS SINCE DEY ARE BZ GETTING EACH OTHER.

All da best for ur new venture!!!

For senior staff it is two months nitice but for others it is one month.

If you are not senior they miight tell you that you are senior. If you escape from your current employer he might black list you (Bad) but if you respect the gentlemen agreement i thing good.

They can't reject your resignation as you can't reject their termination.
