When is it considered jumping the red light?

If the red light turns red while in the middle of intersection, is it considered jumping the red light? If you stop past the white line, is it considered jumping the red light? My husband told me that if you stop past the white line, even if you did not cross the intersection, the sensor will detect your car as beating the red light. Is it true?

Thank you for your enlightenment.

I was hoping that cameras were not working today because of the weather. I remember I read from the paper before that if there's an ambulance and you had to move to give way, you won't be fined if you were photographed with the ambulance. If you were photographed with the trucked, you probably won't be fined :) LOLs Just kidding... Honestly, I don't think you were photographed.

I hate C-Ring. I never use the road but I have no choice now that D-ring is closed for almost a year now.

due to a trailer turned turtle. I was at andalus signal and the traffic was horrible, bumper-to-bumper. while turning left from c ring in a very very slow motion the traffic light turn RED (we were at the middle 2 cars trapped). there was a camera but not sure if it was working since it was newly installed but traffic police are everywhere. Im still crossing my fingers and hope that it was not a violation. otherwise might get a heart attack to see a QR6K or 10K violation posted in that MOI traffic violation site.

pwb98, that's good information. I hope it really works that way!

Has anyone here have some experience to share about the cameras and jumping the red light thing?

Have seen the cameras go off twice for a car stopping over the white line. Not even speeding just edging over the line. Once was my husband and so far no fine is on record. Hopefully the cameras can tell the car didn't move because the camera flashes twice. This was at the red light on the street in between Hyatt Plaza and Villiagio.

These cameras are driving me nuts. I'm not a violator. But it worries that i'll be photographed for a violation I didn't do or intended.

thats am telling you dont get over that line when the lighs are red. just for get ur front 2 wheels across that line the fine for that is 10k.

so if you see the green light blinking just move at a steady speed 60km/h not above.

Do you think the new camera at Muntaza Signal (C-Ring) are already operating? My colleague told me that in Australia, if you stop past the white line, the camera will take photo and repeat it after a few seconds. If your car is tsill in the same position then you don't get fined. I wonder if it's the same in Qatar.

MAKE SURE YOU SMILE AT THE CAMERA WHILE JUMPING THE RED LIGHTS

if the green light is blinking dont stop keep moving but dont speedup too. the cam wont flash. the cam only flashes when you cross RED light.

You have 50/50 chances of getting fine. But since you did not cross the intersection i am sure the authorities will consider it and void your fine.

I have been flashed twice at the Toyota Tower Signals for jumping the red light but luckily the cameras are still in the testing phase.

Not all those ugly speed cameras are fully operational. They havent all yet been connected to the ministry of interior's sever.

Once I was behind a truck at a signal and I couldnt see whether it was green or red when I was crossing. These huge trucks block the sight of the signals. They have to do something about it.

Anyways I would definitely advise people not to jump redlights and slow down at the singals.

Nope, I'm not taking the risk and I won't ever do that. It's just that this morning, when I am about to cross the intersection, the green light started blinking. Instead of crossing the intersevtion, I stopped but I was past the white line already and I can't reverse anymore. I was worried, I am gonna be fined.
