Hi All,

I just want to know the social life comparison between Singapore and Doha. I am an indian and currently working in Singapore. I have got an offer in Doha and they are ready to pay me 20KQAR/month + medical + to and fro once in a year to back home.

Can somebody tell me about life style in Doha like outing places, Hindi movies, hindi TV channels, games, indian food, and living expenses.

I can easily save USD1400 in singapore and staying in a decent 2+1 HDB - flat in suburb of singapore.

Please help !!!!

Regards,
Abhishek Tandon

I STAYED IN SINGAPORE FOR 1.5 YEARS AND I WOULD SAY LIFE IS SO CONVENIENT AND SAFE THERE... BUT IF THE OFFER IS ALMOST DOUBLE THE INCOME IN SINGAPORE AND YOU ARE TO SEEK FOR MORE SAVINGS, CHOOSE TO BE HERE IN QATAR.

ME AS AN EXPATRIATE FROM ASIA TOO, I HAVE EXPERIENCED LIFE HERE IN DOHA FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS NOW AND I CAN SAY IT'S JUST THE SAME AS IN OTHER COUNTRIES BUT NOT THE CULTURE OF COURSE.. THERE ARE MANY RESTRICTIONS BUT TO THE EXPATRIATES, NOT MUCH. IT'S BECOMING LIBERAL AND THERE IS ALSO NIGHTLIFE HERE AND FEW SHOPPING MALLS TO BE WITH EVERY DAY OFF. A LOT OF GUYS FROM INDIA HERE AND A LOT OF INDIAN FOODS ALSO.

LIFE IS SIMPLE HERE IN QATAR.

Salam,

One thing I know about Singapore is : it's really very clean.

Doha is not that clean and the roads especially in places like Industrial area are terribly damaged. My advice enjoy your stay/work there and wait for all the workshops here to finish , then you may think about it :)

Good luck.

Dear I would say dont try to come here in Doha. Here life style is entirely like hell. if you compare with Singapore, I would must say a difference b/w moon to earth. there is no social life. ppl are planning to go some other places from Doha coz of living expenditure which is increasing day by day without any control. Most of the household item's prices have been increased by 100% and some 200% also. there is no quality education in school for children and the where is that we can not afford.

So If you want to come, just try to come on visit visa and see it, dont loose your job over there.

best of luck.
