Im just five months here. Once only i fell ill sofar, that time i went to a channelling service. but some of my friends asks me to go to government clinics which is cheaper. but some of my friends says the doctors here arent very good. they just prescribe the drugs when you just enter the room. Anyway for me no problem, but my family is about to arrive here, so im worried about my kid , if i dont get a good doctor i will be in trouble. so pls, kindly somebody tell me where we can find good doctors with facilities, specially kind doctors.

I heard the same thing..I'm so afraid to get sick here.

我听见 我忘记; 我看见 我记住; 我做 我了解。

You can't understand until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes.

PM. I must have misunderstood your sentence as 'Everything here is more expensive and so I buy' somehow. Still I was'nt retorting and I did mean it in a nice way that some people are blessed to have more money to spend as they wish. Cheers. I have to learn to frame sentence in a better way.

Its terrible to hear that story, If something like that happened to me i dont know what will happen to me, but i feel its better to take medicine for minor illnesses here, if something major comes, we better go back to our home country, its not advisable to take a chance. Even outside the government hospitals also we dont get good doctors, dont we?

Don't go into Emergency at Hamad unless you are in an Ambulance they don't take you seriously, I was in shock with three broken ribs and a bruised spleen and ended up in a room for cut and scrapes. I think the Emergency ward is run very badly. Some outpatient drs. are good at HMC its just a trick to find out which ones. One messed up my elbow and I had to have major surgery in the States to fix it. Medicines her are cheaper and more easily available than the US. Some drugs are so much less its crazy. Unfortunatley health care hasn't changed much in 15 years at Hamad it needs major help. Good drs. don't stay long as they are not paid well.

I have found the government hospitals 'HMC' is good. There is Hamad emergency hospital at Al Sadd for kids with good doctors. But it is advisable to bring priscription medicines like antiallergic, antacid, antihistamic (Sp ?) ointments etc. from your country as these are very expensive here. I even stock Band-Aid. There is a list of medicine for common ailments which I keep updating when in India (only for adults). For the kid I rely on HMC or private clinics.
