Double Decker Bus Drivers!

Hello!

Isn't it great that you can find a forum on the internet for just about anything?

Anyway, my question for you all is as follows.

I am a truck driver and Ex Bus driver, and, whilst using a site here in the Uk of which I am a member I discovered an advert from a company caller k2engineers for DOUBLE DECKER BUS DRIVERS at the Ras Laffan projects area.

Can anybody tell me what these double decker buses are for? (no smarty pants answers please!)

With Ras Laffan being such a huge industrial area I can imagine it will be some kind of Works' services?

Does anybody what kind of wages these bus drivers earn?

Typically its a low paid job here in the UK and that's one of the reasons I went in to Truck driving. I earn 26k a year now. As opposed to 16.5k on the buses.

I have a full time job in UK, mortgage, and a young family who would be remaining in the UK, so it's a huge HUGE step for me to take.

I've applied because it can't hurt to get the 'facts' from the recruiter.

Thing is, that's just THEIR side of things, I'd like to hear fom the real experts, YOU!

Any thoughts, opinions, honest, brutal, frank or otherwise, I really don't mind.

Many thanks.

Andy.

accomodation, because it is WAYY to expensive , or for a good allowance, also, schools is quit expensive, transportation is a hassle, because not enough taxis!

What else!

If you are offerd an accomodation and means of transportation then thats good, of if you are offered allowance, also its good, but you have to see how much they might provide. it all depends on the position!

about losing weight, well don't count on that in Doha, its hard!

Thnks for that Guys,

Lets assume the money Im offered is good, what could I expect in terms of living conditions do you think?

I like the simple life- uncomplicated, my VW BORA, my XBOX360, Call of Duty 4, my wife and family and trying (almost permanently) to lose weight!

Lived and worked in Ibiza for 4 years, had the simple life there, just a room, a bed and a job.

(That's what I mean by simple life BTW!!)

Andy any person without university and post university qualifications are looking at about a fifth of what they get paid in the UK.

They are looking to employ a non westerner.

You would be lucky to get a 100pounds a week with this job.

thats about 190k QR or about 16k QR a month. I don't know about double decker bus drivers, but generally drivers here earn between QR 1500 and about 4000 per month.

I may be wrong about this specific position but I suggest you check the salary offered first before you waste any further energy.

Good luck!
