With exposure to such extremes of heat and humidity in the Gulf are there any long term effects on physical health? For example accelerated ageing, hair loss, adverse effects on skin and complexion etc.

your skin will take a beating...so always ALWAYS use sunscreen, even in winter. Cleanse and moisturize your face twice a day. Be sure and use a good body lotion to keep the natural oils in balance.

Allergies right now are very prevalent...be aware.

hair..find a product with a sunscreen in it for hair...like the skin, it can age it prematurely and strip the natural oils...making it dry and brittle.

of the sun and keep your hair and skin cleansed and moisturised. I find humidity good for the skin, but that was when living close to Gulf of Mexico. Here there's alot more sand and dust and diesel particulate and goodness knows what blowing off the building sites, not to mention the pervasive odour of ordure which drifts round mainly in the evening - but that's probably more or a problem for the nose and lungs. Having said that, I've not had any of the allergies I had in the other place but maybe I've just not been here long enough to become sensitized yet...

But certainly do know about cold effects

e.g. Arthtitis, Rheumatism, Tendonitis

layman term Joint pain.

Though working in cold is much better than working in hot and humid weather.
