Hello every one, we are new here on QL and to Doha. just got a question for you. Someone has mentioned a villa in Muaither (think thats how you spell it), behind the Horse race track. Its not a stand alone villa but 2 attached. We have just been round to see the place from the outside & it looks ok. Any one any idea on what this part of Doha is like?
Thank you all in advance. fedup.com

Hey why don't you try the West Bay Area. It is really nice here plus it seems safe so far anyway.

An update for you, the place we went to look at was not the same place where the villa was, it was on the other side of a small roundabout and was a two story villa. I do not think i even got the price right. silly me. thanks. fedup.com

I can understand those comments from the Male's on this thread but My Husband and I moved into Muaither around 6 months ago. I do agree that it can be a bit isolated but you are correct in the shopping malls being near, so not far for us ladies to do our shopping.

Not sure which villa you looked at?, ours is quite spacious and has the high wall & gates you mentioned and its sooooooooo private.

It's entirely you decision where you want to live but as far as Muaither goes, I do very much like it.

Tooo many options girl, whats this, looks like a buffet of houses to choose from...but anyways to the point 11000 QR is on the O....K side but you might be able to get a bit closer to the city or rather even a bit more closer to those shopping malls, and get yourself a compound stay for about QR 13K - QR15K, think about it, there are a bit more plus points in a compound, rather than a freestanding ...

Security, Club house, Recreation facilities, and it is always good to stay in a villa of a compound...try and see if you have options of those kind...

Speaking to you, you're new, girl, you should join up for a coffee evening that we are all at QL doing this upcoming Sunday...what do you think...and regarding your name champ, we need to find a shorter name for you...maybe F.Com, should do...what do you think...?

I think abut 11000 QR (i think). I know it seems a long way off, but its so near the shopping malls i mentioned earlier. Plus there looks to be a family fodd store just down the road. I must say, some of the houses around look quite big. The one that i am talking about has 3 beds 2 baths plus another toilet. I also noticed quite a few that had large walls are a gate around them them. One set had a few villas in and a big gate to go into. Not sure yet which is the one for rent.

Anyways chief, that's not a bad area but truly speaking it is getting a bit out of reach from the city and it is a bit of an isolated area...you might want to check villas on this side of the Horse Track, for example, somewhere near the sports city or near the 2 shopping malls...those are a good area...speaking of which whats the rent looking like chief...?

thanks for that. When we went today, it seemed to only take us around 15 mins to get to Doha. Plus (being a woman),I like the fact it was near the Hyatt & Villagio shopping centre's. Just not sure what the area is like. Thanks again. fedup.com

too early to become fedup.

The place you tak about is very far from central Doha. AND for you as a new expatriate, not recommended to stay outside a compount with security.

Well, the location suitability depends on which area is your work.
