As Jauntie said the holiday apply only for government institutions, some private companies will work 23 and 24 as normal days, could you please let us know who works in private sector and if you will be off the whole holiday?

Yeaaaah going home for Xmas - quite literally Xmas is a beer in my country :o)

Excuse me bartender - can I get a blue Xmas and a shot of your cheapest whiskey

- I took the blue pill and found myself alive in Qatar - wish I had taken the red and stayed in Europe

The Government Offices in a Muslim country add extra days to their National Holiday and Eid Ul Adha and get to spend Christmas with their families.

So far as I know the rest of us don't get that time off and I expect my hub will work on Christmas Day.

Funny old life isn't it.

Forgive me if I've got it wrong; in fact I thought there was just the National Day on 18 December which was an official holiday.
