Random Thought of the Day

By Gypsy

I just filled two garbage bags full of clothing that I no longer wear, and I'm at a loss of what to do with it. Home I would donate it to the Salvation Army or another organization, but here there is no place to give used women's clothing.

Perhaps DiamondGirl or any other Qatari's on the site would have an idea if this would work, but perhaps Qatar Charity or Reach Out to Asia could do a used clothing drive? They could set up a second hand store and sell off a lot of these clothes. I know Qatari's wouldn't be interested, but a lot of expats might. Where I'm from browsing through used clothing stores is perfectly acceptable (especially since you can find a lot of vintage stuff that you can't find in the stores anymore). And a lot of other expat women would probably love the opportunity to look through what the Qatari girls are tossing out (last years Louis Vuitton purse anyone??).

I don't know. Random thought of the day. What do you guys think?

A good idea to give it to charity, flea market etc. gets more complicated because of legal issues and I am sure there are plenty of needy people around.

Kind of you to think of giving them away.

We could totally do a flea market. Rent out the exhibition center and sell of loads of old stuff.

we could do with a charity shop in Qatar!

Some Qatari friends once took loads of stuff round to Qatar Charity for me.

Maybe we could donate some QL members to medical research at Hamad Hosptial.

I want to donate Salax

Open house and invite all the needy

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here

Than a whole truck load when I'm gone

Great guys thanks. I will do that. (Although I was really looking forward to seeing what Diamond Girl has in her closet :P)

I like vintage clothing ;-).

On serious note, it's a good random thought there.

Cheers!
