WHY POLICE action to 999 calls taking too long to respond...
I called 999 to report a traffic incident as it envolved my vihicle being deliverately hit from behind by another van.
It's so surpricing that POLICE response took more than 40 minutes to come to the rescue thou it happens only in Al MERGHAB St, just near the souk area at 1:00 pm today ,31 October 2007.
I keep on wondering what happened to the POLICE response team, why it took so much time to be on the rescue.
Usually traffic police take some time to attend. What you should do in such case - since it is clearly the fault of the one hitting ur car - provided that the other guy admits his/her fault, to report it to 999, get the phone number of the police station where you should go to finish paper work, call them, tell the story and give the details of both cars, get the name of the police officer getting the call or any reference number, then move there straight away after getting confirmation for that from the officer. I did that many times in similar cases.
to be frank the traffic police takes too much time as it is not a major accident and due too too much traffic load and work they take time to come..
this happened to us at the ramada signal & it took them almost 2 hrs to land up. thank yr lucky stars 40 mts is real fast for them to act.
it was just an accident and not a deliberate act...
If you can't change your fate, change your attitude.
they are to be come late because i to be keep them all busy. when i to be bored i am to be always call them and to ask them ---- what the time now --- how to be go this location ----
Really that was one shocking accident I ever have seen. Almost for a month after it happened I could not dare to inquire anything about that child , I was too scared and was thinking that he may not survive. But God blessed that kid. The kid is I think Jordanian or Lebanese. Do you know Charan?

Najma area right
I heard that if there are no casualties then it may take 2-3 hrs for them to respond. But in case if there is somebody seriously injured then they will reach within 5-7 mins, believe me.
This incident happened nearly 6 months back in the area where I am residing. A little boy merely 3 years old fell down from 2nd floor of the building, which is located right infront of us. He had serious head injuries. But within 5 minutes almost 3 ambulances with paramedics and 4 police vehicles rushed to the spot. The kid was given some treatment like oxygen etc immediately on the spot. Within 12 minutes the kid was taken to emergency by them.
Good news is, his life is saved due to the immediate medical help he has received.

If you get involved in an accident during Ramadan, It may take up to 3 hours. consider you are lucky.
For my perception - maybe the police love to watch movies because in movies they are always late. They just arrive when the act is finish.
You are lucky that they reached in 40 minutes normally it takes them 2 hours.
