sadly and within the gulf region many organisations neglect to prepare or utilise JD's.
They have so many uses - training, performance review, C&B surveys amongst others.
In fact there are benefits (from the interview process) in asking someone why they undertake specific tasks. It builds up the individuals knowledge of their job and how it fits in with other jobs.
Exactly , You are right Mr.Dweller. I am facing so much of issues from our HR department. I hope they should search for the job categories and Job descriptions. There are so many sources available. the comments are right. The job title and job may entirely deferent. Even I still haven't receive any such job description after 5 months of my career here. For me , I am totally disappointed.:-(

There have been a number of questions on C&B issues posted lately and I am beginning to think that there are some real idiots getting involved in HR these days.
FYI cooking is not a job it is an action people how cook for are living if quailified are known as chefs broken into sub catergories ( Executive Head Chef, Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Demi Chef De Partie, Demi Chef, Commis Chef and Apprentice Chef. this then gets broken down into sections) Unqualified are known as Cooks.
Who is lookling for job descrption here . Everyones job is different you cannot generalize it.

There are a multitude of sites that carry this informaation and already have JDs (Job Descriptions)available.
In any case, jobs are never the same even with the same title.
