business cannot be done your way.. "first ask for 3200, then increase"? Negotiation usually goes in opposite direction: ask for MORE then go down...So anwaarsas, ask for 8,000 and then agree for 6000+accommodation. At least it would make some sense...otherwise forget about it...

Anwar,, to make it short. those people want to use you. to bring you here with such low salary. it is a fake. tell them that you got another offer here for QR 3,200 and see how they will react??:) if they increase don't give them right way answer and keep raising up to 6,000.

then it is littel bit fare.

Hey anwaarsas, thank your stars that you knew this forum.Otherwise you would have been cheated and joined the ranks and files of slave labour in the Gulf region. To my greatest dismay,it's not the locals that are enslaving foreigners these days. It's your fellow countrymen.I couldn't imagine how one can survive on QR1600 in a month in Qatar.A friend who is an English Instructor earns over QR10,000+free car+medical insurance+2 return tickets/year+fully furnished 2 bedroom aprtment. So think twice and don't be fooled by your fellow countrymen or anybody. You deserve more than QR1600 if you are a degreed graduate with years of experience.

but the majority of indian and pakistani schools here paying less than 2000 for a beginner. still they are getting teachers ... most of the teachers are housewife though ...

Anwaarsas, I find it rather sad that you were actually seriously thinking that this offer is a good one.

I too like qatarisun thought you had missed a '0' off the 1600.

There are cleaners, office admin etc that earn more than this, even some maids earn more.

Don't take the offer - its just ridiculous that a teacher would be offered so little - or rather more fool the people who accept an offer like that - its like slave labour!!!!!

Teachers I know here earn between 6000 to 20000 per month depending on nationality, school and experience

you won't be able to save anything... your grocery will take AT LEAST QR 1000 a month. Other will go for your phone calls home (only once a month you will be able to do it), and for Karwa bus at least to get Corniche ... I hope you are not going to sit home every single day, after they "drop" you from work, aren't you? you will go nuts..buddy...I didn't get, for what they will deduct QR 170???

But it's still wierd!! a maid makes QR 1000-1200 a month, not a biological teacher...it must be a jok..

biological teacher for QR 1600??? you must be kidding, unless they give you: independent accommodation, car (including insurance and petrol), full set of grocery monthly, clothes allowance, recreation allowance , private medical insurance and GYM allowance, and also open for you saving bank account where they will transfer at least another QR 1000 a month.. then QR 1600 is not too bad salary for biological teacher.. otherwise…it’s robbery.. .I really thought you missed one "0" at the end, I thought you mean QR 16000 package..
