A disturbing invite from an unknown person through YouTube
Has anyone else received unsolicited e-mail through the YouTube site?
I received this e-mail today:
yelenabashford415842 wants to share videos with you!

a) I don't know the person
b) I don't display my lists of favourite videos publically on YTube
c) I've never searched for anything 'iffy' on YouTube
d) Why chose me out of the thousands who subscribe
e) Did that person have the ability to just hit a button and e-mail all, and most significantly
f) I checked out yelenabashford's profile on YouTube she/he had never viewed any videos but the profile said 21 from America and her/his web address is http://www.revengeoncam.com and when I plucked up the courage to click on it .... guess what .... It's banned by Qtel.
I found it a bit disturbing considering the title of the website which I could guess, even before I saw the QTel ban, was going to contain something 'strange'.
guessed as much, but still wonder how they chose me! Oooer missus ..
Have just checked the link from Turkey where it isn't blocked.
It's a porn site
saying "WATCH MY LIPS,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Yes it is a porn site, but one where you have to give financial details : - FATAL"
So now I know :D
I think they buy our contact info from other companies that we have subscribed to. For all I know Q-Tel is giving it all out.

I didn't respond and the website was checked for me by a friend in UK - said it was "only catchpenny porn. Unfortunately once you click in, if only out of curio, then you're on their list".
Which is what I suspected, anyway.
That's interesting, Gypsy - wonder how they do this stuff! Spooky.
P.S. I went to my profile and deleted all reference to my name and country of residence.
Jauntie When you accept you are giving away your ip address.
You open the door for him/her to check:
your Credit-card-data,
your browsing sites,
your files on your pc,
your emails,
He could also use your PC as one of the hubs to engineer a DOS (Denial of Service) virus attack on some Server/Site/country.
He could do all of that or nothing at all.....but do you want to take the risk???
I get these all the time, and I've never done anything on YouTube.

It's the first I've had and I've been registered with YouTube for about 5 months!
Why do they send the e-mail. I didn't accept, anyway, but what would happen if I do?
I thinkin ur spending way too much tme on the net ... :)
These kind of spam mail are endless.. its like a random list tht they keep sending to people...
