Accommodation - SUCKS!
WHAT CAN WE DO??? We are mixed couple. I am mixed by myself with 2 nationalities, and my husband is totally different nationality! WE do not belong to any group. NOBODY WANTS TO SHARE ACCOMMODATION WITH US! westerns say: you are only 1/3 western, we want 100%. Eastern europeans say : you are only 1/3 E.E, we want 100%. Arabs say: you are only 1/3 arab, we want 100%. And we just cannot afford independent flat because it is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENCIVE in QATAR!!! So what the hell should we do?? Should we live on the street?? Or should we leave the country???
MR. AMNESIA! You are always sooo optimistic about accommodation. I guess, because you are Qatari and never really faced this problem! Could you please help us to solve our problem, since everything is "just perfect" in the housing sector?
We are really just almost HOMELESS NOW!! WHAT SHOULD WE DO???
To get DIVORCED? Just because Qatar cannot understand and accept a mixed marriage???

And somebody tries to compare Qatar to Canada... ya'ani : what is better...HERE YOU GO! WE have the answer! WE know exactly where is better! we know at least that we can live in Canada our normal life, not like a homeless dogs or stray cats!!

Well,I just spoke to a guy who is hunting for someone to share his accomodation. He would defenitely have no problems with your nationality, but I donot know the house rent or anything(It wont be very high I guess).By the way,please dont burst on him and scare him away..lol

first of all, as i have mentioned we can not exceed our budget. I would love to have something independent, but for limit of QR 4000 it is just impossible.
then I said to myself: ok, go for sharing. And here it started: indians want indians, philipinos want philipinos, muslims don't want to have any blond lady in their place, westerns don't want to have any muslims in their place..
the places where they do not care who is who, and where they ask within our budget, are just not acceptable. these places rather look like farmyard for cattle...
well there u go...rightly said...left with not much options...sorry buddy...understandable...

i am just really overloaded with all this crap! I spend all my spare time lately for searching something suitable! I made may 100 phone calls and have seen maybe 30 places... what can i tell?..it is exhausting, man...
yes, Maria.m , somebody DOES have a temper! it is much better than to be a cold fish..
what i told you to do, I did myself and found the price i want but i lasted one month till i found what i want, and while the way there were things with reasonable price, plus you seem so disperate and from where on earth would i know that you read gulf times everyday, i dont know you, but it was a solution, also you can try el-meera complex they have ad board afterall goodluck, but you need not to attack anyone for needing to help you despite your situation.

I have just phoned the guy right now .. and he said that he has something available from the begining of the month ... just call him back and tell him Amr Maher told me that u have accomdation for us ..
I explained the prob. for him about mised nationalities and he said he don't mind if they have a marriage certificate .. Good Luck insha allah .. call him today ... he will arrange a meeting with u to go and see the apartment .. it's around 4000 including A/C and Curtains too

first, thanks for calming me down.. but i am really sick and tired of fighting this huge problem! It takes so much efforts, energy, nervous and time!I have been looking for somethign for a last at least month, and things are just getting worse and worse every week! In order to find something, i guess i have to quit my job.
Ram, our budjet is max 4000. we cannot afford to pay anything more than that! I dont' want to explain now why and what, but this is a limit that we cannot exceed. Please ask your sirian friend if they have something available at their place.
Joan, this is not too bad option , but not for us. We are extremely busy with our works, and we work a lot of hours. To supervise a villa, you have to have a spare time, because the roommates will come to you with all problems in the house and you are the one who has to solve it. And also you have to give cheques for rent of whole villa for the year. this is a risk. We cannot take this risk.
but againm guys thanks a lot for at least calming me down.. I am strong person, just sometimes the limit is overstepped. And I am really sick and tired of spending whole my recent life just for fighting. I want to LIVE not to SURVIVE.

25% (1/4) Western
50% (1/2) Arab
Maybe sell the bonuses of your mix. The variety of meals you can cook etc

up to my knowledge there are flats now begining 4000 you can try this, i will tell what to do, get the gulf times everyday read the classifieds, and work hard on this to see all suitable flats within your range, will require hard search but believe me you will find, a friend of ours took an app. 3 rooms and hall with 5500, but you didnt tell your requirements so that we can search with you.

I can feel for you because I suffered a lot with my family until we found a house. We were paying 3000 Q.R for the old one which was spacious and big, we are paying now for 2 rooms and one bathroom 6500 Q.R
Tell me how many rooms do you want, what is your budget and I might be able to help inshullah.

Blackcat, I am assuming that you have contacted adverts with "shared accommodation" and you were let down because of your "mixed nationality", am I right? I'm sorry you are going into this trouble finding accommodation but what I suggest is why not rent a flat/villa and you be the one to advertise shared accommodation...if you are not fussy living in one roof with any nationality, then you shouldn't have a problem getting the other rooms rented.
Tell me how much can u afford for accomdation and I WILL TRY (not sure) to find something suitable for u .. I have a syrian friend who is living in a family shared villa .. let me ask him about it and i will PM
But let me know ur budget???

First of all CALM DOwn n breathe the whole accommodation thing is a hassle but never the less u will get accommodation if u really hunt ... There r lots of apartments may b not sharing but independent ... U would have to stretch ur budget though ...Nothing is impossible ... U have lots of options u just need to work around few of these obstacles...
