Can you frazzle a PC in a container ?!
Is this possible ?! We took our stuff out of the container from Dubai last night and it was very warm which was no suprise, so we left the PC for a while and turned it on later, it was OK at first and then just wiped out and wont restart, a reboot screen just keeps coming up but whichever option we select it just wont fire up ! Anyone had the same experience and are there any good PC repair shops you could recommend ?!?! Thanks.
there is a problem with shipping a whole computers.
1 when beeen shipped the parts in pc move around and can be damaged.
2 fine parts on motherboard can fry if a small part is split causing the computer to restart and finly short out you power supply and taking out other parts.
I build computers and have had some problem with many peoples pc i work with. They also shipped there pcs here and were damaged or blow up after 3 days.
I knew that this would happen to my pc so I just took motherboard and cpu and memory in sperate boxs. When i got here i went and brought a new case with power supply( qatar power standed, monitor, hard drive and etc.
The problem here with buying pc parts is that they don't know what they are selling. They buy off one supplier and it is mainly printers, keyboards, mice etc. Trying to match a good motherboard with the right cpu and good ram that runs well is hard.
OR you can buy a laptop that would last you about a year before it starts to get dirty with sand and overheat. lol
Blighty ..everything on the pc is stable except the HardDiskDrive.
The heat must have spoilt the disk since its a magnetic device & may be you must have packed some Hi-Fi unshielded speakers along with it.
All you have to do is replace the disk with a pre-installed OS Disk.
Since you are new you can try the Ads in the newspapers. Most of these shops are in Sofitel /National / Jumbo area.
Try Olympia Computers at First Floor of Sofitel.Phone-4357467.If you need any other details,PM me.
Hope this helps.
Sounds about right. High humidity and heat combined can do that yes. Try leaving it for a couple of days in a Air Conditioned room, and see if that helps. However if the damage has already been done, then you'll have to do what I have just had to do after suffering a major system crash a few days ago. It's terrible, so I hope you've backed your important stuff up to a separate drive or disks.
I don't know any 'good' PC shops here other than ones on Najma st, down from Mall roundabout, and go across c ring. That road has DIY kind of shops and some pc shops. Another location is the same road as Doha Clinic. And then there is Sofitel area in the heart of old Doha.
Never been to any myself so I can't help you much there.
Good luck. :)
