Please explain!

Does Qatar Living represents the life style of Qatar?
Can I come to some sort of understanding through QL about the
life in Qatar?

If so..How?
If not ...Why?

Yes I am.

There is still a long long way to go though. The goal is to create a simple site with 100% truth so people can gain insight.

I don't find QL to be mostly populated by Westerners at all, I think the most vocal groups on the site are the Phillipinos, Indian and Arab expats.

QL more up dated than local paper. I read already from QL few weeks back or maybe one or two mths back that Bavaria group pulling out from managing that tower near City Centre. And it only come out in the paper 2 or 3 days ago???

And i remember a while back ... one of the expats wrote his plea about his house rent on here ... and one of the local reporter blatantly quoted it from QL and put it back on his newspaper.

If you see my profile, I am a member for some time.

I am just trying get some opinions.. That is all.

Hi Amnesia, bejasus and others

I agree with you.

"Bad news is the good news"

hahaha.

I know what you mean..

Yes! It is true that people who have issues do tend to be more vocal than those who are happy!

I have visited Qatar only for a day. Soon I am likely to come

down on a resident permit.

I am trying to get as much info as possible, since, it is a big move for me.

I am glad to hear different views.

i agree with amnesia, and you cannot judge on any place by other people opinion coz which is not suitable for someone can be good/great for you and visversa so as amnesia butter to have practical test by your self and you know in my opinion " im sure you will adore QATAR "

;)

regards

QL is very westernised, it surely will give you a glimse about the lives of British and Americans here in Qatar, the same couldn't be said about others (at least not to the same degree)

a very impressive way of introducing yourself really was it mak1.

Quite aggressive so don't expect too much response

The QL mostly expresses personal opinions of everyone who takes part in a forum and if you follow it on a daily concept you will see that the opinions differ quite considerabely. Some of the comment are just and exchange of 'good mornings and evenings'.

Starting a life in Qatar is not easy as in most foreign countries having lived in quite a few myself, but QL has many experienced members who can help give you a reasonable insight of Qatar. To be quite honest in the two and a half years I have been here Qatar has grown immensley and continues to grow at a very fact pace.

You will see that Amnesia has put a usl at the bottom of here message if you take a look at that it will give you quite a bit of information.

Qatar (Doha) is is the process of becoming a very pretty city and well worth visiting.

Finally sadly enough not enough Qataris post comments here.

You can't rely on QL if you're really interested in exploring things through local people'e perspective because we're a minority on this site (the vocal ones at least) Sad but true! So best follow Amnesia's advice and come here then decide for yourself.

As with all websites and forums, opinions vary from individual to individual.

You CANNOT simply rely on expats nor locals, you have to understand that each person's life is unique.

You must also remember that those who have issues will be more vocal than those that are happy.

I've said it on the forums before, Bad news is good news in the our world.

You can use QL as a source to gain insight on people's experiences, but at the end of the day, the best way to learn is to come and see Qatar for yourself!

Hope you'll visit one day! (if you already haven't)
