Since we are on the topic of cars.....
By Sheikhsiva •
Since we've been discussing cars....... here is a list of potentials...if everybody would be kind enough to give their opinions regarding which is the best.....keeping in mind cost, driving in Qatar and not to forget....the fun factor...
--> Audi Q7
--> Volvo XC 90
--> Porsche Cayenne
--> BMW X5
--> Nissan Murano / Pathfinder
If some enlightened soul could also quote prices that would be great. Is it true that some dealers don't accept down payments??? Which ones?
Thanks people....
I have an X3 its 2006,i got it for around QR170.000 in a special deal . call the dealer for the new model's price.....the new X5 looks exactly like an X3 just bigger
firstly thanks gals and guys for the tons of info. Secondly, anyone have any first hand info on the infinty. is it worth the extra cash??? (compared to a top of the line Pathfinder). Have a nice day / night / weekend all.

I saw a red smart car yesterday. Seemed to amuse all who saw it. I then felt a slight bump as I drove over it ! Qatar is not the place for such a vunerable car.
...how & where can one buy a SMART car here? I don't think they have an agent, do they?
what about something more substantial (well massive) like
Cadillac Escalade
Lincoln Navigator
Hummer H2
would they be more money?
Different strokes for different folks, Apple. Mercedes doesn't do it for me.
Be ready to get shot:D
You are just nearby my home remember?
Hey, why? me like it! want to have one;)
I don't like Mercedes, Apple.
BMW X3: Does anyone know the price range for one of these??
All new BMW 3 series looks awesome..only 2000/ per month....am in luv with that car.
ah! downpayment? in merceedez yes! it's possible. But i dont know w/ other cars:(((sooooorry!
Good that i scare you;) j/k
They look great and they are pretty good in a straight line. Okay so you wouldn't have one in Europe but for here they are cool cars.

Apple, If I want to pay say 10K as down payment and the rest in installments can I do so. I'm asking cause in the last thread someone said some showrooms make you take up the full amount as EMI. What about the Infinity everyone, whats the price diif. between the Pathfinder and the infinity QX?
And Apple, love the Mercedes, nothing like it (don't want to get shot...)

and low resale value:(((
M E R C E D E S....
anyone here dont have fun w/ mercedes benz? tell me so, i can shoot you:D
Wait...what downpayment are you asking? maybe not downpayment BUT...the reservation fees?
...there is EVER a car nicer than the Range Rover Sport-Super Charged...inside & outside
ML-class 350 new, 6-cylinder, Showroom price start- Qr229k
-w/o tv screen
-w/o navigation
-w/o AMG
-w/o Key less go
If you want to add these options it will cost you around Qr350k+
But... real awesome!!
Thanks Jackmohan, the price list is a great help. Apple does anyone really have fun in a MB, and to tell you the truth doesn't it have an ugly look to it?
Practically speaking the Pathfinder seems best, but the Porsche S looks lovely on the inside. E4 is the price poetry or is it in motion....ha ha. But agree the Q7 does look a little too butch. The X5 seems kinda small.
Anyone has any news on the down payment question?
Shukran.

I am driving an M-Class and it is the best, combining a nice town car with a solid offroader for the rough fun! The engine is also good for sporty driving! Check it at NBK on Salwa!
Reselling value is good and quality is outstanding! Should cost new around 150K (i have a used one!)
would you like to include MB in your list?
-ML-63
-AMG
-612 horse power
-Price: Qr360k - 400k+
service and spare parts is cheaper 25% than...*
w/ good resale value.
--> Audi Q7 -237000 - 280000
--> Volvo XC 90 - 145000 - 188000
--> Porsche Cayenne - 187000 - 469400
--> BMW X5 - 210000 - 335000
--> Nissan Murano - 126000 - 130000
is the most fun if you really want to use the offroad.
The rest are nice town SUV's and the funfactor of the large engines is marginal in this traffic in Doha! The Porsche is a good offroader too, if you want to take it to the desert!, the rest is just a fake offroad, but nice cars! Depends what you want!
Murano is best value for money, XC 90 a great vehicle but a headache to resell in Qatar, the standard 6-cylinder Cayenne has a Volkswagen engine in it and not a Porsche, Q7 I find ugly, more like a coffin but is technologically advanced, X5 is poetry in motion with a matching price tag. BMW's advantage is that they have a program called BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) in addition to the warranty. This covers everything you need to service in the car (oil, filters, brakes, wiper blades, etc.) but not the tires.
