LCD TV with USB flash Memory

Hi
I am planning to buy a LCD TV 37" 42"

Is it possible to directly plug USB Flash memory 4gb in to the tv and play movies and videos?

I download lot of movies on torrent files over the internet which are really educative. I have to copy them to DVD [takes time and money] and play them on DVD. Wasting lot of DVD's.

Is there a way where i can copy them to Flash memory and pulg directly in to LCD TV

Or any better idea?

Went to Jarir and bought one of those usb hdd's with usb/video output, now i play my movies anywhere anytime, and it was only 680 for 300 GB, but i think the price went down, check the Jarir Website if u want, maybe they have it on promo.

I hav something similar, AivX(2.5" 100GB HDD)

Its very cool, plays almost all formats and it has regular firmware updates on their site so that u can play newer formats. Mine has a car kit too n I can use it in my car.

This is what I have.Plug it into your TV, I put a 400GB harddrive in it. Store your collectables on it then use the wireless for one-time shows. Works Great. Plays DVD off your computer too

Also, have the portable one, we take it on vacation, put my daughter's favorite shows on it,and watch movies or TV series at the hotel

you could also look at Archos-that's a sweet gadget too- a little pricey- maybe next year

I have checked for Sony LCD TVs with USB port. As per them, you can only use usb port for viewing pictures and playing music. Its not good for playing the movies.

Using RGB port with computer is the best option.

Get a long RGB cable from the computer souks and a monitor splitter box and away you go. It should cost you no more than 20 quid. I brought a 25 meter RGB cable down there for a tenner, and it now loops its way around the house to the plasma, bingo.

Some makers such as Philips and Hitachi have USB ports. Panasonic favors SD.

You just have to check with local suppliers.

I have a notebook connected to my Plasma. You can get an external portable HD and connect it to the notebook or transfer over a network at home but that takes more work.
